Biography
A Beautiful Baby Boy
Location: Paragon City Hospital, Paragon City
Date: 14 Years Ago
Time: 1:13 AM
An agonizing scream fills the hospital room as nurses usher out with rags soaked in blood and sickly looks on their faces. The doctors do their best to help the brown haired woman who is struggling to birth her child. She screams and pushes again several times and the baby is born. The doctor takes the baby and hands it to a nurse to clean and take care of while he tends to the mother. Still screaming in pain and suffering from severe blood loss the woman's body grows cold and she flails and twitches. The doctor points at one of the nurses and orders her to get the required tools and medicines and then he quickly begins to work to save the womans life. A brown haired, green-eyed man in a black and blue suit stands outside the room watching the nurses with bloody cloths pass by. He nearly faints and his heart grows colder everytime he hears his wife scream.
Later a doctor exits the room with a remorseful look on his face, gazing up to meet the eye of the man who had waited in agony outside the room. He delivers the news of his wifes death and tries to comfort the man as he breaks down crying. The hot tears fall from his face down to the cold grey and white tiled floor, and he now screams and pulls his own hair in agony. The woman he had loved all of his life was now dead and it was his fault for suggesting that they had a baby, knowing it was against her wishes. The man, Warren Eskel, had always wanted a child that he could care for and love, something he could be proud to raise and rear.
The only sound coming from the small hospital room was that of the baby crying in the arms of the nurse. The small baby was as normal as every other baby, if not but a tiny bit lighter, and he continued to cry as his small hands reached up towarrds the light above him and grasped at the air. The blonde haired nurse cleaned the baby off gently as she had been taught to do and carefully made her way out of the room to show it to the man, hoping it would offer some comfort to him. The man looked up from his deep sobs but said nothing, looking at the small blue-eyed baby that had now stopped crying. Tears running still down the mans face he grew quiet and nodded at the nurse. She took the baby into a different room and laid it down to rest.
Five years passed from that day and the small boy and his father stood in a cemetary, the place they had gone every year on his birthday. He had learned to be quiet and not speak during the times of his fathers mourning and instead stood and stared at the small gravestone with his mothers name on it, tears running down his cheeks as well. There were no parties, there were no presents, and there was no "Happy Birthday". They returned home and the father went over to his bar, taking out a bottle of alcohol and drinking directly from it. He glanced over at the child who was now in the living room playing with a set of blocks he had gotten for Christmas. Angrily he made his way over towards the child and raised his hand, bringing it down hard on the childs face. The boy cowerd away with fear and cried to himself, placing his arms in front of his face for self defense. The father picked up one of the small wooden blocks and threw it at the boy as he yelled "You took her from me!" The block flew through the air hitting the boy hard and bruising him in the chest, his father then stormed away, up to his room with the bottle to drink himself into a incapacitation.
A Much Unexpected Surprise

That dreadful day had come yet again, and Owen and his father stood at the foot of the grave and stared at the gravestone. Owens father had, as was his new custom, brought his alcohol and was drinking it as he sobbed. Owen stood and stared at the gravestone before his eyes shifted at the others that surrounded it. Owen had heard of how much fun the other kids had on their birthdays and how there was gifts and how they invited all of their friends over to play games and have fun. Owen wished that he could have a normal birthday, but his father had convinced him that his mothers death was his fault and that all he deserved to do on his birthday was mourn for her. He was silent around his father and didn't say or do much but cower and cringe.
As they made their way to the car his father finished the last bit of alcohol left in the bottle and grew angry, turning his gaze from the distant car to his son. He must have been too drunk to notice the police officer who had noticed him and his alcohol, bringing alcohol into the graveyard was one offence, but drinking it in public, and then planning to drive with a child in the car was something entirely different. Owen's father took hold of him and he stopped and grabbed him by his dress shirt, anger deep in his drunken eyes. He raised the empty bottle up into the air and brought it down towards Owen. As the bottle connected with the side of Owen's head he lost conciousness and fell limp, still held in the air by his father. The police officer quickly drew her gun and yelled at the man to drop the bottle and let go of the child but instead the man ignored her and threw the child to the ground begining to beat him with his bare hands. In order to save the childs life the police officer did as she was supposed to and shot the man, peircing him in the chest puncturing his left lung. The man toppled over on top of the child and the blood from the wound dripped onto his sons white dress shirt as he heaved for air before his vision faded to the blackness of death.
A Friend

Time: 8:00 AM
Regaining conciousness his eyes opened and Owen saw the quick flashing of lights above him as he was rolled down the hospital hall down into the emergency room. The sounds and voices of the doctors and the rush of the scene scared the young boy and he began to panic on the stretcher. A mask covered his face and the visions and sounds of the people around him blurred and he slipped into a familiar blackness.
Waking up in a hospital bed with wrappings around his head, chest, and arms he looked around slowly. Trying to concentrate and find his bearings he turned his head to the other side and saw an unfamiliar person sleeping in a chair next to him. He waited for about thirty minutes, listening to the beeps and hums of the machines in the room until the man finally woke up. He had a kind face and looked to be about 30ish with smooth black hair and a cleanly shaven face. His left hand made its way up to his face and rubbed at his eyes, clearing the sleep from them, he looked at the young boy staring at him and smiled cheerily. "Hey there champ" he said and moved his hand to rest on Owens left knee. The man was dressed in a sharp black suit and the wrinkles in his suit showed that he had probably been waiting for Owen to wake up for at least a day. "Do you know who I am?" his kind voice spoke, raising and eyebrow. Owen shook his head and politely responded, "No Sir." The man figured as much and nodded once, "My name is Drake Parielton and I was once a friend of your mothers. I've come to take care of you and look after you." Owen was still a little puzzled and the look on his face must have said so because the man explained further. "I'm your new guardian and you're going to come stay with me if you'd like." Owen nodded childishly and smiled at the man. One of the doctors had the man fill out some of the hospital paperwork while Owen changed into a pair of new clothes that the man had bought for him. As they left the hospital Owen laughed boyishly, something he hadn't done in a long time.

As the car slowly pulled up the the gates of the manor Owen's eye open wide with surprise, the man looked like he had money but Owen hadn't expected him to be this rich. The manor was located on the outskirts of Paragon City and was away from other neighborhoods. The Parielton Manor stood high up on a hill of the vast amount of land that was owned around it, and the entire property was surrounded by a large metal and brick wall. "Who lives here?!" Owen exclaimed excitedly as he looked around out of the windows of the car. The man laughed and looked at the boy, "We do" he responded and chuckled again and said, "I've had all of your belongings from your old house brought here and I've also went ahead and bought you all new things just incase you decided you wanted them." Owen was in complete shock and as the car made its way up the long driveway up to the house he looked around the land and smiled. This place had everything, its own tennis courts, pool, stables, and guest building.
As they made it up to the main house they both got out of the car and made their way to the front door. The man reaced into his pocket and pulled out the key to the front door and unlocked it, letting Owen inside the house first and then following himself. Owen looked around the large opening that was the main hall, lavished with large paintings and a grand staircase that led up to the second and third stories of the house. Mr. Parielton held his hand out in front of Owen with a key in it, speaking kindly, "This is your house-key incase I'm not here and you get locked out, don't lose it." Owen took the key and placed it in his pocket and then the tour of the house began.

Owen sat in one of the living rooms in the manor with the T.V. on with a seven other kids from his school. The group of children sat in horror at the sight in front of them, an old fashioned horror monster from a monster movie attacking a person. "Aaaaaggggghhhh!!!" all the children screamed in unison with eachother as popcorn flew into the air of the dark room. Suddenly the lights in the room came on and Mr. Parielton stood looking at the children, dressed in a black suit as always. He raised an eyebrow as they all simple stared at him, the movie now paused by the remote in his left hand. "Why arn't you kids watching this in the movie theatre downstairs?" he questioned as he looked at the popcorn scatter about the ground with a smirk. "Owen can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked and watched as Owen made his way from the couch over to where the man was. He placed a hand on Owen's shoulder and escorted him a little ways from the room and then turned to talk to him. "I'm going to have to go out tonight again and I don't know when I'll be back" he said and frowned. "Alright, do they have to leave?" Owen asked and pointed in the general direction of the room. "No, they can stay in the guest house, but YOU!" he said and poked Owen in the stomach with a smile, "Need to do your homework tonight" he said with a laugh. "Awwwwww...." Owen replied and laughed as well. They shared a hug and Mr. Parielton made his way out the front door. Owen ran back to the room with the remote his father handed him before he left and turned off the lights, "Now where were we?" he said and flipped the movie back on. "AAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!" they screamed.
A Discovery

"Dad! Dad! Quick, come look!" Owen shouted out, calling for his adoptive father, Drake Parielton. Owen had adjusted to his new life and was now living a very happy life with his new father. He waited for his father to respond and when he didn't hear anything he yelled again, "Dad! Dad! Daaaaaaaad!" He waited again until he heard a response coming from the story below him, "I'm coming son! Give me a minute please!" Owen waited, excitedly looking at the sight in front of him, an open passageway down into a secret area of the house that he hadn't found before. As his father made his way up the stairs he looked down the hall into the room where Owen was and his eyes grew wide. He quickly made his way over to the room and stepped in front of the secret passage way and looked Owen in the eyes, "That's nothing" he assured and smiled. Owen crossed his arms and gave his father a look of disbelief. "Alright, alright, you caught me, I was going to wait until you were 10 but I guess now is as good of a time as ever." He lead Owen down the stairs in the secret passage way into a large technical room that looked as though it was straight out of a super hero movie. "No way! You're a super!" Owen yelled surprised. His father turned around and smiled, laughing a little bit as he pointed over to a rack where he kept his costume. Owen rushed over to it and held it up carefully, some of it touching the ground since he was short and the costume was so tall. "You're The Honest Defender!?" he asked, his eyes full of surprise. "Yes" was the simple response that his father gave him before he continued, "And I was going to tell you when you were older...." Owen looked around the room he was in. It had everything that any hero or hero in training could ever need.
Owen looked up to his father and smiled, "Well...." he said. "Well what?" his father asked him, quirking an eyebrow. "When do I start?" Owen asked, a large grin on his face. His father smiled at him and nodded, "How about now?"
Growing Up Fast
Location: The Training Room, Parielton Manor
Date: 4 1/2 Years Ago
Time: 12:00 AM
Owen quickly dodged a blow from the man in front of him and raised his left leg to kick him in the chest. The hologram of the man stumbled backwards and flickered lightly, revealing the robotics behind it. The hologram projector recovered itself and the robotic features disappeared into the figure of a man who was now charging Owen. Owen quickly dove forward out of the way of the man, one of his feet kicking out as he came back up to his feet to trip the robot. Quickly reaching behind him he pulled out his sword and threw it at the man, piercing him in the back of its head. The robot flickered again and all power to it was lost, the holoprojector unable to function without power shut itself down and the visage of the man was lost. Owen made his way over to the robot and pulled his sword from its head. Making his way out of the training platform and next to his father who was operating the controls he set his sword up against the computer and took off his mask. "I'm ready, I don't need anymore training" he said as he looked up to his father. His father looked at him and crossed his arms and asked, "What's the capital of Zimbabwe?" Owen groaned out loud and frowned at his father replying, "I don't know, Harare?" His father looked a little surprised for a moment and then asked him another question, "What's the state animal of Wales?" Owen opened his mouth in surprise, "How am I supposed to know that!?" he said and frowned. His father pointed up at the secret passage way, a gesture that had come to mean, 'time for bed'. Owen pouted a little bit and made his way out of the room up to his bedroom, his father put on his costume and prepared to go fight villany, by himself. "One of these days I'm going to get to go with him" he assured himself and settled down into his bed, still in his costume since he was too lazy to take it off.
The next morning he was awoken by the shaking of his shoulder. He opened his eyes to see his father standing above him with a disappointed look on his face. "Son what have I told you about falling asleep with your suit on? What happens if someone sees you, or if you forget to put deoderant on?" he questioned, somewhat annoyed. "I'm sorry Dad" he said and made his way to his bathroom to change out of it and get ready for the day. "Kids these days..." his father said as he walked down the hall to the kitchen.
There's A First Time For Everything
Location: The Rainy Rooftops of Paragon City, Paragon City
Date: 2 Years Ago
Time: 9:11 PM
Owen disappeared from the view of the villain as he looked back to the rooftop behind him. All that was left of him was a small puff of black and purple smoke. The villain stopped dead in his tracks shocked and then smiled as he let out a maniacle laugh. He opened the bag in his hands to reveal the vast amounts of money inside and continued to laugh. "That's more than my allowance" he heard from behind him, he spun around quickly to nothing but a puff of black and purple smoke. "What?! Who said that?!" he demanded at the nothingness surrounding him. Suddently a whistle came from behind one of the structures on top of the roof, "Over here" said the voice. The villain dropped the beg of money on the floor and moved his hands back to where a pair of dual pistols were, or.. were supposed to be. At the absent feeling of his pistols he quickly turned his head back to look at the empty holsters on his belt. Nothing but another puff of black and purple smoke. "I'll kill you! I swear I will!" the villain yelled loud on the rooftops! Owen giggled from the top of an air-conditioner unit where he was now sitting, both of the pistols in his hand. "With what? These?" he said as he threw the pistols over the side of the building, down to the floor below. "How did you.... Who are you?!" demanded the villain. "Could we make this quick? I'm going to be late for my birthday party." he said, his voice cracking a little bit. Puberty had hit him, and along with the usual changes that every boy went through he had also awoken the mutation that laid dormant in his body since birth. Owen blushed a little bit as his voice cracked and cleared his throat. Suddenly a loud slamming sound came from behind the villain as Owen's new father, The Honest Defender, had finally caught up. He struggled to get his breath for a moment and then pointed at the villain, "You're under arrest!" he proclaimed and made his way over towards the now cowering villain. "Good work Son" he said, nodding at Owen. As they made their way to the birthday party back at the Parielton Manor Owen's father put his hand on Owen's shoulder and smiled at him, "Happy Birthday Son, let's go get some cake and greet your friends."
Birthday Bash
Location: The Parielton Manor
Date: Same Date As 'There's a First Time for Everything'
Time: 9:30 PM
As Owen and his father arrived at their house they quickly changed out of their clothing and got ready for the party. Owen had invited all of his friends and he made his way down to the main entrance to wait for the first people to arrive. Suddenly he heard a knock on the door and he looked at his watch, '9:45', "Hmm... they're early." he said to himself and made his way over towards the door. With a bright smile on his face he gripped the handle of the door and began to open it. Before he even had time to open the door enough to see who it was it was ripped from its henges and and the door hengle slipped from Owen's hand. Looking out at the group of four people dressed in street clothing Owen didn't know exactly what to do, he thought maybe he should run seeing as how the largest one had single handedly ripped the huge oak door from it's frame but he also was far too confused as to why they would be here. "Umm.... welcome... to... the party...?" he said with a quirked eyebrow. The four thugs looked at eachother, not entirely sure what was going on either, they hadn't expected a kid wearing a suit to answer the door, or to see a large banner reading, 'Happy Birthday Owen' hanging over the top of the staircase. The long pause continued until one of the thugs held up a glowing hand in the air and Owen slipped into the yet again familiar blackness.
Owen awoke in an unfamiliar room, his hands tied up and hanging from one of the rafters on the roof. His feet didn't touch the floor and he tried to ease some of the pain on his wrists by gripping at the rope that he was hanging from. "He's awake" a voice said from the darkned room, "Well speak to him" another voice said. "Congratulations kid, you must be really lucky, we've decided to spare your life since it's your birthday" one of the voices cackled. "What? Where is my Father?" Owen said as his eyes tried to adjust to the room. "Was it his birthday too?" one of the voices said. Owen gasped and a lump in his throat formed, he felt sick all of the sudden. "We didn't think so either" one of the voices said and then the sound of wet clothing hitting the floor sounded somewhere close to Owen. He looked down to see his father's empty costume, still soaked with blood, in front of him. Owen yelled out in anger and disappeared in black and purple smoke, leaving only the now empty ropes used to bind him to the rafters behind him. The people in the room began to panic as he they saw him disappear and each of them looked around. Several quick flashes of black and purple smoke filled the room and different screams of pain and fear echoed off the walls. The members in the room began to drop to the floor one after another as Owen a now silent killer slaughtered each of them brutally, tearing flesh from them and breaking bones in a savage fury. The room grew quiet except for that of Owen's muffled tears hitting the small pool of blood that surrounded him and his cries for help. All innocence had been lost and the only person he ever thought loved him was gone.
