A Memory problem

Bryan has had his memory erased and a new one put in, so that he believes that he was born into his powers naturally. Slowly, he's been gaining his old memory back, though. He sometimes blacks out in the middle of combat. The longest it ever lasted was 30 minutes, but he always comes out with more knowledge of his previous life. He's likely started gaining his memory because, heeding warnings from the resistance, he stopped drinking Enriche. With the ability to see through lies, he's also started to question his loyalty.

Story Time

23 year old Bryan Strike was psyched. He'd just been chosen to be the first civilian to time travel via a contest sponsored by Praetor Berry. It was a thing that would have been strange to any normal person, but the drugged sheep the Praetorian Civilians were didn't even notice. Things like this happened a lot.

Beneath a thick layer of lies and plotting, this was a way that Neuron tested some of his inventions without the risk of losing valuable soldiers or resources.

Bryan stepped onto the pure silver platform that served as the base of the time machine. He gazed at the amazing aquamarine mass of swirling energy in the center of the silver ring that was conducting the portal itself. Bryan could barely keep the excitement off of his face, though he was trying his best, because Praetor Berry himself was there.

Drugged by excitement, Bryan didn't notice something that anyone, even a citizen of Praetoria, would have noticed. There was nobody at the main control panels but Praetor Berry himself, and even with all his super powers, he himself was being noticeably cautious.

Bryan was walking forward, towards the portal. It was almost hypnotizing to him, his thoughts were blurry, and he could hardly focus, like a child who'd attempted to stay up all night, and was the brink of sleep. In his hypnotized state, Bryan didn't notice the worried face of Praetor Berry. Praetor Berry would not be worried for a civilian, of course, but rather himself. Nor did he notice the grappling arms of electricity arcing out of the machine, only to dissolve into the nearby walls.

He stepped inside the portal, and everything was calm for a moment from the eyes of the various scientist who were backed away in the corner, and even Praetor Berry thought everything was going well. Bryan felt he was in a sort of limbo between times. The energy was surrounding him, and it was the only thing in his vision, though he didn't feel anything. He was suddenly struck by something that could only be compared to the impact of a bullet square in someones chest.

The electricity increased amazingly, as if the portal had turned into a contained storm, with each bolt of lightning a storm would give out being fired out of the portal within a matter of seconds.

The ragged body of Brian Strike came flying out of the portal, and at the same time, the portal exploded, though not in a traditional manner. All of the amazing aquamarine energy the machine contained went flying out, and the entire lab was painted the both glorious, and sickly given the situation, green.

Bryan hadn't died, though. In fact, you might say he'd gotten a new life. While in the so called limbo state, he'd absorbed some of the energy in the machine. Said energy actually boosted his speed. Theoretically, the energy had merged with his DNA. Instead of time control, though the energy sped him up, as he'd been attempting to go a short while into the future. he quickly joined the powers division. Why not? He'd grown up with stories of the Great Praetors, and how they saved the world itself. It was the obvious choice for any citizen of Praetoria, right?

The Praetorians on the streets hardly noticed the explosion, if they did, seers were quickly dispatched. By tomorrow, Bryan Strike was forgotten as a civilian. If anybody had asked about him, they'd say he was born heroically into his powers, and had always been fighting the good fight.

PREATORIAN-Where the Loyalty Lies, the Praetors and the Traitors

Currently, with Bryan still regaining his memory, Bryan is still a member of the powers division. He's held up from being neutral and completely torn by a tether of his old life still to be uncovered. He's had moments in combat where he tries to figure if he's doing the right thing. He's almost lost his life several times because of these.
