Ice Star is a mutant Hero that associates with the Templars of the Abbey. He is a realtive newcomer to the heo community of Hero Corps in Paragon City. Though largely an unknown amongst the media Duane remains a reliable and dedicated Hero.

History
Former Infantryman for the U.S. Army's 42nd Division, NY National Guard. While serving in Iraq, he was saved when his long time friend Kyle Donner was forced to use his powers to rescue several of his friends when the convoy they had been escorting came under fire.
During his service in Iraq he was surprised to find someone who seemed to have the same type of mutant ability as he did. Kyle had become a mentor to his friend and Duane was very much relieved to discover that having his gifts was something that did not make him a freak.
He had learned of his abiltes at a young age but had except for the occasional prank had concealed them fearing ridicule and persuction. After his enlistment had ended and upon learning of his friend's murder in Paragon, Duane felt obligated by honor to repay the debt he owed his friend.
Adopting a modified version of Kyle's costume Duane has applied to Hero Corps under the name Ice Star and was readily accepted. Driven to not only see his friend's killer brought to justice but see to it that he carries on his friends goal of protecting and fighting for those who can not fight for themselves.
Duane has applied to pick up where Kyle left off even applying to the Templars of the Abbey as well. So by day he attends PCU and tries to find balance between a normal life and the life of figthing crime he leads by night.
Powers
Ice Control
Duane has the ability to freeze the air around himself and others, manipulating it as necesary. To lower body temperatures and control and confuse multiple foes encasing them in fields and blocks of ice.
Sonic Resonance
Duane has the ability to generate subsonic fields around himself and others, manipulating it as necesary. To lower resistance in his opponents while increasing the strengths and defenses of his allies in his crusade against crime.
Flight
A characteristic of Duane's mutant Ice abilities. He has the ability to manipulate the air once cooled to carry him aloft in a controlled flight. Still new to this Duane is only confidant in this newly discovered ability to maintain a slow hover.
Affiliations
Duane is currently a member of the Templars of the Abbey.
Friends and Allies
Duane is largely a solidary sort of person and thus does not allow many to get close to him. He is fiercely protective of his fellow Templars despite not being really close to any of them as of yet.
Enemies
Various Gangs and Crime Families through out Paragon City. Though he holds a special contempt for the soldiers of Lord Recluse.
