Character Biography
Early Years
Will was born August 9th, 2002 in the midst of the Rikti War on Primal Earth to Robert and Elizabeth Pratchett. Midnighters both, his parents fought throughout the war before retiring from the public eye to raise their newborn son and train him in the mystic arts.
Loss and Regret
April 28th, 2012, the supervillain Lord Nemesis struck Paragon City. His Operation: Fallen Thunder was a resounding success in numerous parts of the city, tying up and outright killing numerous superpowered threats for the sake of his still-unfulfilled plans. The resulting fallout from this attack hurts numerous groups of heroes in Paragon City, including those thought retired from their work. Robert and Elizabeth Pratchett were two such victims of this latest Brass Massacre, hunted down and murdered by Nemesis sleeper drones for seemingly no reason. This left Will without family or friends to care for him, a ward of the state.
The Worst Timing
Thirty-three days later, on May 31st 2012, the Primal-Praetorian War came to an end with the defeat of Emperor Cole. The resulting influx of refugees to Paragon City and Primal Earth as a whole puts an intense strain on facilities dedicated to child care, emotional health, and metahuman ventures. Will Pratchett fell through the cracks during this time in foster care, considered a lower risk of flight and general danger even with his sparse magical training. While Praetorian Earth refugees were placed in homes and housing and orphans from Emperor Cole's regime were given hope and a future, Will rebelled.
