A scouting clockwork sent from Praetoria to Primal Earth to scout and report on the problems of it to find a weakness and use it to their advantage. |
Inertia Spike. A Clockwork built by Praetor Tilman and sent to every dimension and plane known to the Praetorians that they deemed neccessary to send a second clockwork to for reconnaissance. Never sent first, seen as too high of a prize for Tilman over Berry, he couldn't risk the lost of his greatest/newest work. Too be honest. I love this toon more than most of my others. It seems I built great robotic outfits, and love the backstory for most of them. Inertia was my first attempt at making a robotic head without using a full/half helmet, with some of the new hats it made it possible. His costume he uses now though, is using a full helmet.
History
Back Story
He took his final steps coming out of the portal. Two simple steps that seemed the hardest. After all, walking was a simple program installed into his mainframe, right next to the talk applications and hand gestures text. He was told his thinking might be a little flawed after the jump, most robots have that orientation after a long jump while their internal systems try to react to the new time zone... era... dimension even that they just took step into. When his photoreceptors finally flashed, and then slowed down to a dull blue hue, he could finally "see" where he was.
It was a dull, plain looking warehouse. Like none he ever saw in his own dimension. Drab, dreary places like this were most likely wiped out, swept clean off the face of his "Earth" when the Biological Beings, in a loose term of the word beings, known as the Devouring Earth took over it. He wasn't around for the Hamidon Wars, created shortly after Cole was reigned in as Head in Chief, or as the Resistance Forces called him "Tyrant" and took control of the little area that was protected from the every creeping thinking plants and rocks that follow the Almighty Hamidon. It was exactly 2.59 years after he took control that I was built by one of his Praetors.
Tilman was a great genious who created many robots to help the general population. What the general population didn't know was that he also created robots to help fight. Those exact same robots that were cleaning up their living room, washing their son, or cutting their lawn could, in a quick switch and a 15-letter code, all the Clockwork that they've known and grown with as a family would forget their meaningless task and help either defend against the symbiotic creatures that took the rest of the world, or fight any resistance within. Quite a feat if you ask me, one of those robots.
I'm known as CW E#274-2948-FF4. I was a clockwork built not for domestic needs, but for exploration. There were many like me. Sent into slipstreams in time and space to planets, planes, and places we never would first send a human. Many of my brothers, I guess we could call them that to better suit you humans, never returned. Either destroyed in transit, or destroyed before they could return. Either way, those calculations were cut off, recalculated, and retried. After a 5th failed attempt on that same calculation would that one be deemed worthless and marked down as "Barren ". This is where I come into play.
As an Exploratory Clockwork, we were giving more than just the basic arsenal for our equipment. They gave us certain mechanisms that would allow us to fight tougher, and harder than our Domestic Brethern. Each batch of ECs, as we were later called, had their own different "Powers" as Primal Earthlings call it. Anywhere from Fire Starters, to Freeze Rays to Electric Sparkers were implimented into our design to better fit what was suposedly our destination. I've gone through a few different refits over the five years I explored but ended up finally being equipped with Energy Projectile System and Gravity Distortion Mechanism. I liked it a lot more than the Fire Starters, since they seemed to backfire more than anything else.
Continuing on with my background... I was chosen for a follow up exploration to a plane that the Praetors, scientists and even the Emperor himself called "Primal Earth". Which, in my calculations would be wrong unless that plane is the one we split off of and the one I was created on was just a duplicated copy on a different stream of time due to one or more events... or to make it simple... we Clockwork were programmed to think our plane, as I later found out was "Praetorian Earth", was the first and original time plane. Anyways, after the 4th Clockwork returned from that plane, they reported that it'd be a great plane for us to invade, conquer, and move to, to get away from the Devouring Earth. Which suprised me. I thought we were just exploring for knowledge basis and needing to know threats.
Anyways. I was one of many ECs that were dispatched to this plane "Primal Earth" to explore, collect data, and return after a few years to report and possible start a war. So here I am. The humans of this world call me Inertia Spike. Which is, ironically, a very adept name for my "Super Powers" as they call it. They labeled me as a Technologic Gravity Control Dominator with Energy Assault as a secondary power. Hard to label what you don't know. For a robot, our "powers" don't excalate or mutate, like these Primal Earthlings. I've recorded many as they transformed from lackeys on the streets to Super Villains and Heroes. Also seems they fight. A Lot. And I tend to help the Villains out. Afterall, gotta keep this civil war of super powers continued. My creators would like that.
After all. Civil Wars make invasions much more easier to complete and conquer. And everything starts with a couple baby steps.
Current History
Currently he is incognito in the X-Patriots. A group of Super Villains that swear to change the way Paragon City is controlled. Lord Recluse reminds him a lot of his leader, Cole, and seems to like it better. He helps invade the plane that the Primal Earthians found called "Recluse's Victory" (As they named it) and help keep it HIS victory. It's quite fun to break down the heroes that end up coming as well to reverse this effect. Inertia Spike is usually seen with the X-Patriot groups, but have been seen to work with other Primals to further their agendas. Gotta act like them to get the data he needs to report back to his controllers. He still has not recieved the code and password, with the voice recognization in a message sent directly to him to return. Like he has on prior missions.
More to come. This article about a character is a stub -- a small, but growing, work in progress. If you're the creator of this character, why not consider expanding it?
