United Systems Alliance Report: Aa

The fact that our enemies, the Union of Sentient Starfaring Races, have brought the organism known as Aa to Earth is dire news for our mission here. The mere fact of their alliance with the Iaian is troubling, and their willingness to introduce it to other biospheres is downright irresponsible.

Do not let the organism's appearance or talk of "harmony" deceive you. Aa is a shapeshifter who can assume the form of any biological organism whose genetic material it acquires. Its natural form is a blue ooze, which is the dominant--and, in fact, only--life form on Ia, as it has consumed all other life there and replicated it with itself. This is the "harmony" that Aa speaks of, and it intends to see that Earth has the same fate.

Aa is a powerful psychic, although, fortunately, its mental powers are limited by the form it assumes. We believe the organism has been provided with the DNA of an Arachnos Blood Widow by our enemies, and has subsequently acquired genetic material from several other individuals. Do not, under any circumstances, allow Aa access to your genetic material. Aa can make moderately convincing clones with the help of psionic masking, although it has proven to have difficulty replicating some creatures with a highly unusual genetic makeup. If Aa is able to completely consume an organism, it can use its memories and personality as well.

Fortunately for all of us, Aa's "Inquisitor" probe on Earth is weakened by its distance from Ia. It does not have access to Ia's vast library of acquired life forms to replicate, nor does it have the massive psychic power that makes approaching Ia itself so dangerous. Do not hesitate to use extreme force if you encounter the Inquisitor in the field. Our best hope of thwarting Aa is to eliminate the Inquisitor before it can establish a foothold on Earth.
