Interstellar Knight

The Knight Inception
The Knight Errant
This world. It called to me from a distance and I never understood why. It seems only a few moments have passed since I saw the city spires of Andaria, my home... my life. Even after these many years, I mourn for its passing and still blame myself. They told me it was not my doing and that I did all I could. Even with the Wards, with my power, I could not save them.
My Wards. My Knighthood. I look at my wrists often and see my reflection and I catch myself silently
rubbing my fingertips across the smooth metallic surface of the bracers that were given to me. Even
after all these years, they have never tarnished. Always cold yet not lifeless. There is a form of
sentience in them that I still have trouble putting into words. With a simple thought, I could cover
myself with an armor that would protect me from almost anything and call forth the power of the stars
themselves and yet, even after a decade on this planet, I had never called upon it. I remember my
first year here and the man that attempted to rob me. I wanted to call upon my Mantle and to force
that unevolved ape to regret his decisions in life. But I didn't. He shot at me with a combustible
pistol and the Mantle itself protected me with a spark and a splash of the shining metallic substance.
The would-be robber ran off and I just stood there, numb in both spirit and conscience.
The life I made for myself on this planet was, while not happy, content. If I chose, I could probably have become an influential scientist or if all else failed, some sort of security work. But I wanted to blend in with the overall masses. To disappear among them as silently as possible and so I took a job with an advertising firm as a low-level technician. The economy of earth notwithstanding, it was an adequate job and one that did not involve me having to communicate with too many individuals. Though my species can change our skin and hair color at will, my eyes, like all Andarians, remain white without pupils. Physical "anomalies" are often seen by humans as something to be pitied but also make them vaguely uncomfortable. As such, with a pair of smoked glasses and my natural ability to change my hair and skin tone, it wasn't difficult to submerge myself into the general population.

The Early History of the Knights
When this universe was still in it's infancy and the first galaxies had spun from nothingness, it was only a matter of time before the first lifeforms began their evolution toward something greater and, eventually, into the First Intergalactic Alliance. Of course, this is a very simplified version of a long forgotten history of galaxies that no longer even exist. When the First Alliance had formed, it was agreed by all representatives to choose a leadership that was neutral, responsible and fair. The various representatives looked then immediately to the Xon.
Little is known of the Xon or even their species. We do know they were the first trans-dimensional beings to come from another
universe and they had come to broaden their studies. Because of their first peaceful overtures, their help in interplanetary
mediation and their agreement to maintain the formal communications for the First Alliance, it was voted immediately that the
Xon or the Founders as they would then be called, would preside, having proven already their invaluable assistance. The Founders
agreed reluctantly but wished to convey that they would do nothing to cause a disruption in the natural evolution of any species.
The Citadel
Though some frictions between various species remained, the Founders were able to soothe tensions through
mediation's at first. Even after the creation of The Citadel, an established neutral orbiting platform where all beings
could come for both protection and peace. Soon it became apparent that even with their power, they were so few in number
that it was becoming increasingly difficult to protect and guard against various injustices and non-alliance military
incursions. Afterall, they were neutral leaders of an intergalactic alliance, not a military force. They decided and
requested the rest of the Alliance planets to send them representatives. Special envoys that would be selected for
training and given the power to protect the peace.
At first, only 100 of the representatives were selected individually by the Founders. The First was Laeiz, a female
from the planet Nebul, the home of a fiercely loyal but almost gentle plant species. In a ceremony that would later
be handed down through many generations, The Three Wards were given to the Chosen. The Code to guide their task, the
Mantle to protect their task and the Stone to enforce their task.
It was Laeiz who was given the First Code, a small metallic cube that the Founder pressed against her head as it
melded into her mind, protecting her both mentally and spiritually. The First Mantle looked not unlike a metallic
ball of mercury, always moving and fluctuating before it was placed in the vine like hands of Laeiz, melding into
her body before flowing over her tendrils, and forming a silver and black form fitting armor. Finally, she was then
handed the First Stone, a diamond-shaped blue crystal. At first, the stone was quiet as a silence fell before Laeiz,
her eyes closed, pressed the stone close to her heart. The Stone merged within her and in that moment, her entire
being began glowing brightly as she floated above the assemblage, raised her hands and silently summoned the power
of the very stars radiating from her entirety.
Laeiz, the First Knight, then silently called forth the sword, made from pure energy before floating down, turning the sword downward and on bended knee, pledged her life to the Purpose, the protection of freedom, the innocent and the guardianship of the Intergalactic Alliance.
The first 100 were also given the Three Wards. Each one, from humanoid to insectoid, Gaseous to Light forms, all
were given their Wards in the same ceremony before finally pledging their lives to the freedom and protection of
all life. It was a small light form named T'ra from a younger galaxy who requested of the Founders a name. A name
that for eon's after made the chaos and evil that had spread throughout this universe take notice and fear for it's
very existence. The Interstellar Knights were born.

OOC Notes:
In Progress...
Ancient beings, Kheldians or other Aliens may recognize his costume and variant energy patterns from his Wards. The Interstellar Knights, while no longer the force they once were, still had a reputation and was legendary throughout the various galaxies spanning billions of years. The character, however having been only trained after a few decades and not fully experienced does not realize just how powerful they once were.
