Jaadeni is a character that is based on artwork of a City of Heroes/Villains character from 2006 named Shakini, who was a red-skinned female demon whose design is largely used as inspiration for Jaadeni. The idea behind the character is for her to be an anti-hero vigilante, though with a heart of gold - haphazardly committing deeds that border on vigilantism while not exactly being too aware of their effects.

Background

Jaadeni is a curious thing that was brought into the mortal plane through the ritual of a coven of vengeful witches. Their mistake was not realizing, however, that the ritual they used was only to summon a lesser demon - and the only one that was actually available was a half-demon, this blue-skinned "Tiefling." Though disappointed at the lack of any real significant power, the coven was adamant about having Jaadeni commit to the reason why she was summoned in the first place. To their shock and dismay, she refused to perform what was to be considered a simple task of "killing all of the people who wronged each of them." In reality, they were asking her to kill boyfriends, ex-boyfriends, and bullies at the college they were attending. Simply realizing that this was the only thing they were using her for, she refused outright to do anything of the sort - and the coven cast her away, sending her out into the greater Paragon City to find her own place and lot in life. Being that they refused to send her back to her home plane, she took it all in stride. In fact, many would be surprised that this half-demon is actually very chipper, upbeat, and usually positive about events happening around her. Even from the moment she was summoned she was lethargic, worrying more about trying to live the life of an average young adult woman than to commit any foul deeds.

Appearance

Jaadeni is a blue-skinned demon with glowing crimson eyes, and slate-gray hair with silver highlights. Her base outfit is composed of revealing and skin-tight spandex that covers her breasts from the sides and lower body in the form of a bikini bottom, with a pair of thigh-high boots to complete the ensemble. The material of her spandex is also flame-retardant, along with her leather boots, which allows them to remain on her person as the rest of her clothing dissipates with the heat from her powers.

She is the kind of individual that is not afraid nor shy to show off her physical appearance, often wearing clothing that displays what she considers to be her "best features."

Personality

Jaadeni is quick to express herself; a charismatic and upbeat individual, uncharacteristically so according to the usual tropes and understandings of demons and their kind. Even from the moment she was summoned into the mortal plane by the witches who performed the ritual, her first concern was to try and make friends out of them - even if they didn't want the same. She focused more on trying to live like an average young adult than pursuing the reason as to why she was summoned in the first place. She's social and outgoing, frequenting public social areas such as the nightclub, Pocket D.

Influences

Jaadeni has not been on the mortal plane for long enough that she would have been able to acquire anything in terms of influence. In this day and age there are many similar demons and creatures of the infernal void to look up to and be inspired by, but she has yet to meet them.

Superheroic Activity

While Jaadeni does not consider herself 'a hero' she has done heroic deeds - though her methods are often questionable, at best, bordering on the line between Hero and Villain. To most, however, it would seem that her rash actions are done accidentally, without any awareness whatsoever - either being forgetful or negligent.

Powers

Jaadeni has command of the infernal flames of her plane. At a whim she is able to call upon this power to assist her during her day-to-day activities. From there, her abilities augment her own strength, allowing her a not-so-insignificant means to defend herself and inflict serious pain on others. When she moves to wound, her flames cauterize any wounds to prevent bleeding - and her natural strength and endurance is enough to completely incapacitate anyone fighting against her.

Xaxsas, The Infernal Edge

At times, Jaadeni is able to conjure the image of a scimitar in her hand to use while in combat. The entire body of the sword is primarily made of condensed, concentrated fire and is able to cut through anything with enough force behind it - though while its edge is considered lethal, Jaadeni does not necessarily use it to kill anyone, dialing back the strength of the blade through her control of the infernal flames to wound and incapacitate, for the most part - although, with her toeing the line between Hero and Villain, she has been seen using it to kill only those who are the most deserving it.

Connections

Jaadeni does not, at present, maintain any relationships or partnerships with anyone in Paragon City, or the Rogue Isles.
