Jennica was adopted by a couple in Topeka, Kansas who could not have children of their own (she does not yet know she's adopted). Her mother was a stay at home mom who also babysat for the little boy next door, Robert. As they got older, Robert and Jennica became best friends, and it was quickly apparent they'd probably be married someday. Jennica was extremely intelligent, and was reading college level books before she was even in junior high. In the attic of her parents house, she discovered an old book that taught her rudimentary magical spells. She quickly developed an affinity and fascination with fire, which at first scared her parents, but they soon realized she had a respect for the danger of fire well beyond her 10 years of age.
