Jessica Lynn Murdoc Is a charachter in the MMO game City of Heroes. She first made her appearance in issue 18: Shades of Gray as an anti hero. Jess comes from a possible alternative future where terrorist have contaminated the nation's crops, and food riots are a daily occurance. The government granting itself emergency powers combine church and state to form the Christian Initiative. New laws are passed and many books, music, and art end up on the censored list. The Message is recieved from space in 2020 and broadcasted over the world showing the Earth as a wasteland. Many theories are made of it's origin from God, aliens, to just being a hoax. In 2024, Jess is one of several sent back through time to aid the preservationist in their goal to preserve books, music, and art which were lost. Jessica's personal goal is to see to it that the message is never recieved.
