Justice Prime is a male Super Hero created by Tim "Veikira" Wasney for the City of Heroes MMO. With heavy influence from DC Comic's Superman and fully Intended as a tribute to the "Man of Steel". The design and concept of Justice Prime still brings a unique story and classic Golden Age look to the MMO. The character took his first steps in Paragon City under the guidance of Miss Liberty in Mid-2005.

Personality

JP has a strong sense of justice and believes all people good or bad deserve the right to a fair trial. He will never move to playing the role of executioner.

One of the few "boy scouts" of Paragon, his charm puts him in great favor with the people of Paragon City and his peers.

His greatest strength and possibly his greatest weakness is he cares a great deal for all life and that can often effect his judgment while teaming with other heroes and heroines. Often enough he breaks away from his team to go straight for the hostage(s). Any plans that may have been laid out prior is often broken.

Powers and abilities

It's speculated that upon entering the Earths atmosphere the cosmic rays from our sun altered Van's(Justice Prime) genetic make-up, granting him his amazing abilities. So far we've seen him display incredible and almost limitless strength. A near impenetrable hide, and the ability to defy gravity and take flight!

Super Strength:

The limits to Justice Prime's strength is impossible to calculate at this time. His most dramatic display of strength was recorded in "Boomtown" were he prevented a skyscraper from falling on a neighboring building with a "Clean up and Salvage" crew inside. The workers told reporters that he held the skyscraper with one arm then saluted the workers with his other.

Invulnerability:

There is very little that can hurt JP. The only things recorded to effect him is an equally matched or greater foe in combat and all Magic. No other elements are known.

Flight:

Justice Prime defies gravity and soars the skies of Paragon City. His top speeds have been documented to reach Mach 3. Often enough loud explosions can be heard. When trouble rises across the city Justice Prime often breaks the sound barrier to reach ground zero.

Telepathic Sense of Danger:

Telepathofhelp.jpg

Justice Prime can often be seen hovering above the city. In a split second the pop of the sound barrier being broken is heard. Justice Prime has an amazing sense of when others are in distress. Be it by way of "super hearing" or actual telepathy.

Influences

SupeandCap copy.jpg

Heavily inspired by Superman, the original and greatest hero of all time. Prime's costume is also inspired by the now departed "Captain America" from Marvel comics. When role playing, I often ask myself "What would Superman Do?"

Character History

Backgroundimage1.jpg

Justice Prime came to us from a now eradicated planet called Zon, A planet galaxies from Earth. He worked as a "Justice Prime" (much like the police officers on our planet).

A madman by the name of Ruul had threatened to destroy the planet and demanded a ransom for the location and code to the device. The High Council (has authority like our President) would not comply with his demands. About a week later the planet began to have violent quakes. Ruul warned the planet Zon that in 24minutes Zon would be no more. A world wide message was sent out to the Districts of Zon Alerting an Emergency Evacuation to a planet called Daimael, an ally to the planet Zon.

"Van" left the Sanction of Justice(Base of Operations) to go home and make sure his family had their escape pods ready to evacuate to Daimael. The tremors got worse...According to Justice Prime his sister went back to get her favorite doll. As he chased after her another quake began and a power cell blew as he reached for her. The blast knocked him back into the escape pod, the force scrambled the internal commands and rendered him unconscious.

He awoke to find himself floating in space in the battered pod. Upon getting closer to Earth the pod was drawn closer to the planet due to it's gravitational pull, when it entered the atmosphere it burned up and broke apart, an event that should have burned him up as well, but didn't. Upon entering the atmosphere the cosmic rays altered his make-up and granted him amazing abilities.

He had crashed through ten floors of an apartment complex in Atlas Park. One of the rooms he crashed threw was that of Veikira's. Who took him in and helped him adapt to his new found abilities and life on Earth.

The Journey of Prime: Creating a Hero

Historyofdesign.jpg

Right away I knew I wanted to base my hero from Superman, but for a long time I had trouble finding a look I could live with.

In Mid-2005 Justice Prime took his first steps into Paragon City. At the time dawning a patriotic themed costume that would later make its way back to his final design. For several months he displayed the red, white, and the blue. But for some reason it didn't feel right.

In Late-2005 the second design broke it's way into Paragon. This design was originally used for "Veikira" one of my very first heroes. The design of this costume kept elements of Superman's "Black Suit" design in mind. But...it wasn't Superman enough.

Early 2006 gave way to the Virtue Server's unofficial Superman. Displaying an even closer design to the "Man of Steel" that lasted through most of the year. However I would later attempt to make Justice Prime more original.

Late 2006 Cryptic Studios put the hammer fist down on tribute characters after siding with Marvel to create their MMO unofficially titled "Marvel Universe". In fear that Justice Prime would be whipped clean I attempted to make him more original. In two-weeks time the Character again just didn't feel right to play. For several weeks he 'collected dust' in my character collection screen while I attempted to make several other heroes. Many of them not having the same appeal and joy that JP gave me while playing this MMO. So I got bold! Justice Prime made his return a few months before the dawn of the year 2007. Back in the blue tights and red cape.

Mid-2007 the final design came together. It took two years for the character to create himself, throughout all that time his origin remained the same, but the character went through just about as many alterations as the actual Superman(DC) did.

After Marvels choice to kill off the only character I ever followed in Marvel Comics, "Captain America", I had an idea to merge the two characters. Taking a little bit from Captain America and molding it onto my Superman Tribute.

And so...the final outcome for Justice Prime has been shaped.
