Known Background Information

Note: All information known about the man that would become Kamenwati has been discovered via historical archives and legend.

It is said that in ancient Egyptian times, when the pharaoh Ramses II ruled, one of his strongest and renowned warriors fell from grace. The man became corrupted by power, lusting and obsessing over it. He made an attempt on his pharaoh's life, hoping to usurp him, only for it to end in failure. Barely managing escape, the warrior fled the palace and his court, being branded with the name Kamenwati, or Dark Rebel, and becoming a feared bandit.

During one of the man's many desert expeditions, he discovered an ancient temple dedicated the ancient deity Set. Long abandoned, he entered only to discover the Gauntlets of Set. Upon a stone tablet was etched their legend. Part of the power of Set himself was said to be sealed within those gauntlets, and whosoever wore them would be granted immense strength and the powers of the god himself. Easily intrigued by this, the bandit quickly put them on. He soon discovered there was a deadly curse attached to that power. According to the legend, "The strength of Set belongs to no living mortal." As quickly as that, the bandit was rendered dead by his own lust for power.

It is said that, as an act of kindness to one of their greatest warriors, despite his treachery, Ramses II had his remains mummified and sealed within that very temple. One day, thousands of years later, a team of archeologists discovered those very remains. The mummy's body was sent from museum to museum for research purposes and to be put on display. He eventually found himself shipped to the Museum of Paragon City.

According to security footage, a battle between a team of heroes and the Circle of Thorns in that museum is what brought the mummy back to life. One of the mages, desperate to not be defeated, used a spell to bring to life all the long dead remains that had been put on display throughout their exhibits. Kamenwati was among them. Upon his return, he surged with the power of the gauntlets once more. However, due to his undead state, he was no longer affected by the Gauntlets of Set's curse. Because of this, he was now capable of wielding the power of the god without consequence. He quickly dealt with the heroes and criminals before fleeing.

He now roams Paragon City, seeking battle and searching for anything else that might grant him more power.

Powers and Weaknesses

Kamenwati possesses the powers of the ancient got Set himself. Because of this, not only does he have super strength, but he is capable of making the winds do his bidding while conjuring, controlling, and even becoming sand. He is also capable of stretching and launching his limbs out at opponents over a distance.

Thanks to the power of a god of darkness surging through him, his undead remains seem to have become nothing but dark energy held together by bandage wrappings and ragged clothing. This leaves him very vulnerable to attacks made of or able to generate fire.

Known ways to properly thwart Kamenwati include, but are not limited to:

- Fire related attacks

- Isolating him to a weather controlled area with no nearby sand-like minerals

- Attacking from a long distance if capable

- Somehow disrupting the power he gains from his gauntlets
