Birth
Kate was orphaned almost from the instant she came into this world. Left on the doorstep of an orphanage in London she has no memory of her real parents. Or why she was abandoned.
Childhood
Kate was only in the orphanage until she was 5, at which point she was adopted into a wealthy, English family. On the outside the family appeared completely normal, even if they did push her to excel in her studies even at a young age.
The Teenage Years
This is where things really began. Kate was incredibly smart. So smart she managed to graduate from Oxford University at 16 with a Masters in Genetic Science. From there she was approached by a clandestine British organization referring to themselves as "The Legacy Foundation". They took her on as a Geneticist. Her job was to analyze the Demonic DNA samples they retrieved and calculate and possible combinations of them. She was never told why. This lasted until she was 18, at which point it was revealed to her that she was in possession of Demonic genes. Rather than harvest her DNA they deployed her in the field, training her to be a stone-cold killer. A soldier. A professional. And then everything went wrong.
The Tragedy?
Shortly after turning 22 her parents were brutally killed by, what she now knows, was a demon. But not just any demon... more on that later. She stayed hidden in England for 2 years before finally getting on a plane to New York. This is where her original memories started. She now knows everything that came before but at the time she knew nothing. While in New York some men attempted to rape her. It was at this point that she learned that she had a skill for combat (she had no memories of actually being trained at the time.) Still, she decided it best to move on. To the Rogue Isles. Surely with so many nefarious and magical types about she'd be well hidden.
The Kingsmen
It wasn't long after reaching the Rogue Isles that she happened to meet Sureshock Serenity and Panzert. Serenity was actually hiring Panzert into her company, the Kingsmen, at the time. But Kate decided that allies would be good to have. And offered to join as well. Since then she has established some family-like bonds to several of the members. She views Panzert as a younger brother, despite the fact he's much stronger than her. She also had a short-lived romantic relationship with Michelle LeBeau. Very short-lived. Three days long.
Big Daddy?
As Kate became stronger she took tougher and tougher jobs. Until she finally managed to piss off Arachnos enough they sent a hit squad after her. They severely beat her but just before she lost consciousness she saw the same black shape from her parent's murders arrive. When she awoke the Arachnos operatives were in pieces. And she was fine. A mystery indeed.
The Search For The Truth
So Kate returned to England for a long while. She hunted down the Legacy Foundation and retrieved any information she could through killing, threatening, extortion, and bribing. In the end she discovered some interesting things. The black shape. The one that killed her "parents" and the Arachnos operatives... it wasn't trying to kill her. It was trying to protect her. It was her father.
The Return
Kate has returned to the Rogue Isles, armed now with the knowledge she gained in England. She is still wary of her "father" and any reprisals by the Legacy Foundation and attacks from Arachnos.

Powers
Gunfighting
Kate is an expert with dual hand guns, and most other weapons, most notably in the application of "gun ballet" or "gun fu". When she fights it's like something out of a John Woo movie.
Charisma
Kate has a following. She pays them, of course, but they are still incredibly loyal to her. They follow her orders and watch her back. And she watches theirs.
Shadow Skills
Kate has the ability to become shadow. She can use it to meld into existing shadows and become somewhat invisible. Or she can make herself become incorporeal to slip through small spaces or out of people's grasp.
Dark Miasma
Kate can tap into the power of the Netherworld and use it for various applications.
Affiliations
Kate was in a romantic relationship with Michelle LeBeau. She has a sibling-like relationship with Panzert (from her point of view anyway). She is also friends with Amelie Drake. She is friends with Latanya Sawyer and other members of the Kingsmen.
Hobbies
None that anyone knows of.
Weaknesses
She can often become too emotional. This can throw off her gunfighting, and even destroy relationships. She has been working on this.

Kate was inspired by a mess of characters. Lara Croft, Silver Sable, Selene from Underworld, and Jenn from a PS2 game called Primal.

She has her own soundtrack. It's currently up to 28 songs for a total of 1.7 hours of music and is still growing.
