Physical Description

Kiyoko has an almost other-worldly grace about her, a drawing feeling coming with it. Kiyoko's practice does not support the use of make-up or other beauty-enhancing items, thus she relies on her natural beauty. A slim build supports the girl, hiding her divine-granted strength well from those she has selected as a mark. She is rarely seen not wearing her priestess garments, leading to questions if she owns any other clothing.

Personality

Kiyoko's personality varies depending on her current activities. While on the job, the girl is generally far more serious, almost cold to those approaching her. Her dedication to her goddess and her practices takes priority over all else, leading her to focus almost entirely on them. While not working, Kiyoko has a kind, drawing smile on her face at almost all times. A welcoming gesture is given to those wanting to speak to her, as it is her lot in life to ease the troubles of those who seek them to be eased.

Although highly intelligent, Kiyoko is a bit naive when it comes to people. Face-value is generally given to those who haven't earned a suspicious second-look, leading to some comical reactions and comments from the priestess at times.

History

There is little history that Kiyoko makes public of herself. She simply wandered into Hero Corps Registration one day, saying it was the will of the goddess that lead her here, to this purpose. After receiving her 'super-heroine' license, Kiyoko's work continues as normal. Be it purification rituals, blessings, or simple good deeds.

Abilities

Kiyoko's divine abilities are granted by Ame-no-Uzume, her chosen goddess. Ranging from the practices of demon hunting and purification, to the mystical sacred-fire manipulation, Kiyoko has Ame-no-Uzume to thank for these gifts. Her archery skill was obtained through her eighteen year training as a priestess, as well as her skill with her sacred-fire blade.

Even with the blessing of her goddess, Kiyoko constantly trains herself to be at peak physical and mental conditions to perform her duties, as simply receiving a gift brings shame to it. The belief to use those gifts to their utmost capabilities is a paramount philosophy of the girl.

Above all else, Kiyoko has an almost godlike resistance to supernatural influences, be they mind control, mind reading, or corruption of her soul. These resistances, however, do not apply to social interactions, leading to the girl being easily fooled or manipulated, due to her serious and straight nature.

Additionally, Kiyoko can draw upon minor blessings from the other Shinto kami, to perform certain abilities at her disposal.

Equipment

Trademark to most priestess who are dedicated to demonic purification, Kiyoko carries a bow and quiver with her at all times. The bow, she says, is made out of a material known as 'dragonwood', which she comments is wood that grows from the back of an ancient, earth-dwelling dragon. Additional detail is generally minor, only going so far as to say that it is a rare, holy material.

The second trademark is the priestess garments she wears, of a cloth-like material. Little detail comes from inquiring of them, Kiyoko's only response generally being that they are "blessed by the goddess". The garments do seem to be highly resistant to damage, as a demonstration shows that Kiyoko herself takes damage to her body long before a hint of wear is shown on them. She prefers it this way, as tarnishing her garments is considered to be as sin, to her.

Finally, a few standard 'tools-of-the-trade are kept on Kiyoko, generally hidden within her garments. A number of seals, ranging from purification to extermination, are the most common items pulled forth. Other times reveal the holy symbol she wears around her neck, a tea set, and some incense for aromatic therapy to weary souls.

Trivia

1) Kiyoko is an old character of mine from a few years back. She was originally created and used in a number of tabletop RPG's!

2) Kiyoko has been compared to the following characters: Kikyo (InuYasha), Sailor Mars/Rei Hino (Sailor Moon). Any similarities are accidental, and I'll stress that Kiyoko is a character I've had for years in a long-standing D&D Campaign!

3) Yes. They're big. It was a Game/Dungeon Master decision from the first game she was used in. I kept the theme going with her future incarnations to avoid the wrath of my superawesomecoolDM :<

4) Kiyoko does have varying colors for her uniform. The picture provided for this VV page is her 'main' look! Paragon seriously needs to release more miko-friendly attire!
