Lakesha

From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe

Jump to: navigation, search

She's either adorably cute, repulisivly awkward, or incredibly tragic. It depends on perspective. The character is a bit of a mystery, and I intend to keep it that way. Information on Virtue-verse will be limited on purpose.

The Zig File

The first records of Lakesha in the world come from the Ziggurat.

She was first mistaken as a hero. The strange, reptillian creature was first seen in King's Row, battling local gang members. A group of young heroes saw the battle and joined in with the intention of helping. One of them noticed that Lakesha was not arresting the gang members, but murdering them. The attempts to reason with her and discuss morality failed as she walked away without interest. When one of the heroes attempted to force her to remain still, she attacked.

Lakesha was quickly confined to the highest security sections of the Zig, as she proved time and time again to react violently to simple situations and often without provocation. However, something odd was noted about her behavior during a small-scale prison riot.

Riot Video

The video starts off with humans and meta-humans alike running amongst the Ziggurat hallways. A riot is underway.

The camera shakes as a nearby explosion rattles the wall. More importantly, the door that the camera focuses on slowly creeks open. Lakesha eventually peeks out the door, but it looks like she's trying to keep from opening the door anymore then it already is. Eventually she pushes the door as far as it can goes and sits down in the doorway. She watches the riot as it takes place, but makes no effort to be involved.

The security reel remains fixed, and so does Lakesha. She sits still and watches for upwards of a half hour. Eventually a security team arrives to subdue the riot in the shown section of the prison. One of the guards takes notice of her and aims a weapon to her as he orders her to go back inside her cell. She doesn't move.

In a matter of minutes, a half dozen guards are doing the same. Lakesha doesn't seem to be resisting or acting violently in any manner. It's almost as if she doesn't notice the guards. The shouting continues for a minute or two before, during a pause in the shouts, one of the guards says very simply, "Lakesha. Please go back inside." She shouts back an energetic "Okie dokie!" and does just that. The security team looks amongst each other in confusion for a moment before closing her cell's door. They then move off camera to deal with more pressing threats.

Breakout

The only other video of Lakesha is a clip during a now-infamous Arachnos breakout.

During the breakout, there is a point where Lakesha is show by a wall, over a wounded or dead guard. She remains perched at the body and seems more interested in watching to combat around her as apposed to joining in. However, she occasionally makes a lunge at someone who passes by, be it convict, guard, or Arachnos.

A group of security personal run nearby, and one of the members points Lakesha out. After a brief second of talk into their radio, a spotlight from one of the guard towers shines down on Lakesha, illuminating her and the wall she's pressed up against. The girl tries to cover her eyes from the light, and the security team takes up a position to fire at her in case she doesn't give herself up.

Much to everyone's shock, Lakesha begins to sing and dance. Though the words are lost in the chaos of the situation, it is quite clear that Lakesha is putting on a show while the security team keeps aim on her with their weapons. The show comes to a rather abrupt end as the security forces shoot her dead.

One of the guardsmen moves to her body. Only about ten seconds after she was shot down, the reptillian beast jumps to her feet. The guard team is caught off guard, and readies for a battle. Over the course of a few minutes, Lakesha kills all of them. As she crawls off the screen on all fours, no wounds evident despite being shot dozens of times. She seems to be sobbing.
