Personality
Ray Thompson is a man who has always been willing to fight for what he believes in. He is generally good-natured and easygoing, but will not stand for people being hurt by others. Syrius, the Kheldian within him, was also not one to hesitate when action must be taken, and the pair are well suited to one another in that respect.
Character History
Backstory
Ray Thompson was always active and athletic. He made his name famous when he entered into professional football, playing for several years for the Cowboys. He was at the height of his professional career when he and his wife were broadsided in a high-speed collision on the freeway. Unknown to Ray, neither of them would have survived the crash if not for the intervention of a Kheldian. Syrius had an extremely difficult choice to make, but ultimately joined with Ray, saving the human's life, and nearly losing his own in the process. He stayed partly dormant while he healed first Ray then himself... Ray noticed his abilities not long after he awoke. With the blow of the loss of his wife, Ray chose to stay hidden from his celebrity life, not wanting to face the numerous reporters and paparazzi. Instead, he hid himself behind a new identity, Light Stream, and moved to Paragon City, where he could lose himself in the fight to help others.
Past Events
Not long after he moved to Paragon, Ray was witness to a massive explosion in a research facility. Without a second thought, he rushed in and saved the life of the scientist who was working there. The scientist, having been irradiated in the blast, discovered he had a few powers of his own. He decided to follow Light Stream's example, and took on the mantle of Captain Ion. He now leads the Cosmic Defenders, a team that Light Stream has since become a part of.
Not long after, Ion introduced him to a newly registered do-gooder by the name Taran McAllister. The kid was having trouble finding work dealing with the Council, as he was new to the system and relied on his skill as a martial artist rather than unusual powers. Ion had heard that Light Stream was on assignment regarding the Council and introduced them. It was during their first few missions together that Light Stream began to notice strange agents with guns capable of dealing him devasatating blows. Complicating matters, he started suffering from intermittent migraines in the middle of his work. Taran was there the first time Light Stream blacked out and transformed into the Nova form... Syrius had decided that, though he was still in the end of his recovery from healing Ray, that it was necessary to emerge and make sure Light Stream understood who and what he now was, and why the Council was so dangerous.
Current Story
Light Stream is working with the Peacebringers in Paragon City and continues to fight the Council, with the continued assistance of Taran. He is also trying to keep his past identity a secret from his former fans, who believe him dead.
Powers
Light Stream is a bi-form Kheldian, Syrius having previously merged with the Nova before coming to Earth and joining with humans. He is able to fly naturally, and has many offensive and defensive powers that take the typical Kheldian form of the brilliant white streams of light that Ray took his name from.
Vulnerabilities
As Light Stream, he is very susceptible to the negative energy of the Quantum weaponry, and Nictus energy in general. He is also still new to his abilities, which can sometimes be highly unpredictable, as Syrius is not completely himself yet. It will take some more time before Light Stream is at the peak of his ability.

The Council, especially the Galaxy division, are his sworn enemies, along with all others loyal to the Nictus.
