The Beginning
Evan was born to PPD detective Jack Reese and wife Janet. From an early age Evan was guided into the area of sports. His father Jack was a former university standout quarterback before a severe knee injury cut his football career short. Jack had hoped that his son would follow in his footsteps, but instead Evan gravitated towards baseball. As he grew and his body matured it was discovered that Evan had quite the penchant for pitching and his father was all too happy to nurture his son towards the goal of one day going pro. Currently Evan is the star pitcher for Steel Canyon High School, attending his final year. He has quite a few scholarship offers, on the table though he would like to stay close to the area.
Powers
From a young age Evan was known for playing pranks, most notably shuffling his feet around the house on the carpet and shocking people. For years this brought concern from both his parents, as his mother was the retired heroine the Violet Vulcan, known for using her own electrical powers to save the day. Evan went about most of his life without any idea of his abilities or his mother's former life until the age of sixteen. He found his mother's old costume stuffed away in a trunk, almost instantly he began experimenting to see if he possessed the same abilities. He quickly discovered that he was able to shock people at will. This discovery was soon followed by him finding the ability to create constructs and eventually project stunning bolts of electricity. Designing a costume of his own, he set out at night and his spare time to fight crime. All the while keeping it a secret from his parents. Realizing that they would not understand his adventures putting his pitching arm in danger time and time again.
Meeting other 'Masks'
Evan calls other heroes 'Masks' which is ironic because at first he did not wear one himself. Instead he chose to don a pair of special goggles, ones his mother once wore. These goggles were equipped with the ability of different light spectrums, such as black and white, heat vision and night vision as well as protecting his eyes from bright lights such as the maximum use of his powers. During his first adventures he met a man by the name of Donovan Roivan, who pointed out that he might want to use a mask to protect his identity better. He also met a hero by the name of Cryolocke who gave him a special 'flight belt', granting him the ability of flight with a tap of the jewel in the buckle.

Evan and Gidge
Soon after hitting the streets Evan met a young heroine by the name of Gadgix. It was a chance encounter, Evan being his nosy self got close enough to peer over her shoulder at some work she was doing. One thing lead to another and he was quickly interviewing her, asking her all sorts of questions. Almost instantly he was smitten with the little blonde tech genius, and the two became fast friends over their mutual love of video games and french fries. She has become his best friend, and someone he enjoys hanging out with, even if there are deeper feelings from his side.
They shared one date, running through the sewers followed by a few games of pinball. Not the ideal date, but in Evan's eyes any time spent with Gidge is a great time. She even invited him over the following weekend for some online games of Modern Warfare. Evan took this as a second date, even though he never told her so. A few weeks went by before Gidge showed up once again. This time she asked if he wanted to go the mall with her to buy some DVDs. He jumped at this chance, anything to spend more time with the young gadgeter. Movies were followed by some air hockey in the arcade followed by an awkward moment of Evan asking her to the prom. She accepted and the conversation quickly escalated into dating. Before he knew it, Evan was asking her to his baseball games and handing over his class ring to her followed by a lunch before they had to go their separate ways.
Later that night Evan invited her over to his house to watch the movies she bought, his mother absolutely fell in love with Gidge right away.
