Family
Born on Halloween in 1984 to an Italian family in Vineland, NJ, Nicolette was the second of three children. Her brother Joseph is three years older than she, and her sister Maria is three years younger. Nicolette's parents were very loving and supportive of all their children. Her father, Dominic owned a dry cleaners and tailor shop, and her mother Rosa was a devoted wife and mother. Nicolette's parents passed away within six months of each other. Her father died of lung cancer at the age of 77 and her mother followed soon after, apparently of a broken heart. Joseph still lives in Vineland and runs the family business, while Maria has been spotted around Paragon City at times.
Early Life
Nicolette grew up happy and mostly without incident. In kindergarten she met Staci Reynolds, who would become her best friend. They were rarely seen apart and often slept over each others house. All through grade school and middle school, Nicolette was considered a "normal" girl. She did well, if not spectacular, in school, and made some good friends, but Staci was her most cherished companion.
Teen Years
Age thirteen hit Nicolette like a ton of bricks. Her body was going through changes, and not just the usual changes a girl goes through during puberty. She developed into quite a fine young woman. Things were happening to her that she did not understand. One day she was just sitting in her room, looking out the window, staring at her brother's new car. Suddenly, she noticed the car was floating six feet off the ground. Startled by this, she shook her head and crunched her eyes shut really tight and the car crashed down in the driveway. 'Had she done this?' she thought, 'Am I some strange mutant or something? No way! Right?' She immediately called Staci and they made a pact to discover the meaning and source of her new found ability. For years, Nicolette and Staci tested her powers and abilities. Over this time, the pair grew even closer than they had already been. It became apparent that Nicolette had fallen in love with her best friend. Reluctantly, she opened herself up on that subject to Staci, who had reciprocating feelings. The two professed their love for each other and then sealed it with a deep, passionate kiss. By the time they were seventeen, they had been lovers for two years and decided to tell their parents, which did not go over so well. Upon hearing of his daughter's innapropriate actions, Mr. Reynolds forbade Staci from ever contacting Nicolette again. He even went so far as to pack up and move his family to San Diego, CA to seal the deal. Heart broken and hysterical, Nicolette ran away from home and moved in with her cousin in Paragon City, where she finished high school and resumed her examination of her powers and their origin. Here, she made her most progress.
Life in Paragon City
After her graduation from Paragon City High School, Missy(as she had come to be known, due to her hero name) found herself a home in the Eternal Midnight super group. Mentored by veteran heroes (names witheld for security reasons), Missy's skills sharpened and she gained more powers, and also a greater control over these powers. During her time with Eternal Midnight, she developed a few relationships, but nothing with any long-term success. Missy never gave up on her search for her beloved Staci until word of Staci's death came to her by way of a letter from Maria. Enraged over the news of Staci's brutal rape and murder at the hands of a petty street gang, Missy formed her own super group, Vigilantes of the Night. They are a group of heroes, or anti-heroes in some cases, that mete justice as they see fit, without the boundaries of the law. As she built up her new group and started mentoring new heroes, she took on a more administrative role. Semi-retired, she passed the reigns of the Vigilantes to her most accomplished pupil, Radiant Knight, who capably runs things now.
Last Act of Heroism and Death
Missy retired and moved out of the Vigilantes base in June 2009, but still remained "on-call" for emergencies. It was one such emergency that she met her end. Called to duty by a group of heroes in the war-ravaged Rikti War Zone, she beckoned the call and joined the fight. The heroes planned on raiding the crashed Rikti mothership to crush the alien threat at its core. They started by disabling the pylons that powered the force field that protected the mothership. Once these pulons were taken down, dozens of heroes swarmed down on the now prone mothership, striking without warning or mercy. Missy assisted her fellow heroes bravely, stalling the enemy and taking hits so her allies cound reach the center of the ship to complete their task. Wave after wave of Rikti defended their ship, as the heroes kept assaulting them. Missy had taken too many hits and had to be teleported to the medbay multiple times, but kept returning to aid in the attempt to defeat the Rikti once and for all. During the last wave, a weakened Missy crossed paths with U'Kon Gr'ai. Angered at the human presence, he attacked Missy with everything he had. This attack left her helpless and dying in the middle of a crowd of Rikti, her teammates nowhere to be found. Days later, a Vanguard patrol found her lifeless body and made arrangements with Radiant Knight for a hero's funeral. Missy's body was returned to Vineland,NJ where she was laid to rest in the family mausoleum.
