MagmaGuy
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
OOC:I created MagmaGuy originally just because I liked the idea of the resistance of granite combined with the AoE and DoT of fire melee. Eventually, upon joining Merc Inc, I really liked him as a Roleplaying character.

Background
Rick and Margaret Kordo, the parents of Kyle, were both well known volcanologists. They traveled the world, studying volcanic activity across the earth. Eventually, Margaret was found to be pregnant. She gave birth in Pearl City, Hawaii to Kyle Kordo. The family of three moved back to paragon city, their hometown, and decided it was finally time to settle down. Kyle grew up happily, admiring the heroes of the city. One day, when he was 14 years old, Kyle was walking home from school. Two gang members, each armed with baseball bats, attacked him. They pushed him down an alley way, where no one could see them. "Looks like it's your lucky day, kid," One man said. "You get the honor of being mugged by the city's finest," said the other. One swung his baseball bat at Kyle, but the ground rose and formed a shield to block the blow. While the men, and Kyle, were in shock, Kyle pushed one of the men with both hands, and fire came from his palms, sending the man backwards. Kyle ran home and learned to use his abilities to his advantage.
Career
Upon turning 18, Kyle moved out of his parents house, bought an apartment, and began attending college in Steel Canyon. He was well aware of and talented with his powers, but was not using them for anything but heating his coffee in the morning. He eventually received a call from Merc Inc, a newly formed ragtag group of people with extraordinary abilities and a similar desire for a better world. He spoke with Sniper Ghost, the leader of the team, and decided to join their cause. He now fights along side them through all of their adventures. Kyle hasn't recently become good friends with Cid Pyreblast. Recently, Merc inc. fell apart due to player differences and the mysterious disappearance of the leader, Sniper Ghost. The majority of the heroes moved on to form their own group, The Grey Spectrum. Crimson-Cross and Lifesight are co-leading the group.
Powers
Kyle has the mutant ability to control super heated pieces of earth.
Recent Events
Recently, Kyle received word that his parents had gone missing on an geological dig. Kyle decided to go check out the situation. He originally wanted to go alone, but his best friend Cid Pyreblast insisted to go. Lifesight, also known as Evie (Evelette DuPree), also insisted to go, but she realized that she would be busy at the time with an ambassador from Endorial, in an attempt to gain an ally for The Grey Spectrum. In her place, Evie sent her sprite, who works as an indentured servant for past "pranks" pulled on Evie's family. The Crimson-Cross also wanted to go, but was unable to make the trip.
Kyle asked the Vanguard for help getting a trip to Asia where his parents originally went missing. The Vanguard were more than happy to schedule him a flight in return for his service in the Rikti War. Kyle and his team first went to a FreakShow outpost, hoping they knew something. After brutally beating every Freak in there, Cid searched the computer, and one file was found regarding the subject. It said the following:
"To all Freakshow members:
We will no longer be going near the geological digs nearby due to strange rock creature sightings. We don't want to get mixed up in that stuff."
So Kyle and his team went to a cave that the nearby village natives said was the home to the "earth dwellers" of their tribal legends. It was said that no man ever went in there and came out alive. Kyle and Cid bravely ventured into the cave to find Kyle's lost parents. After fighting through tons of strange humanoid rock creatures, Kyle's mom was found. She was cut very badly, hardly had hair left, and her clothes were ripped to shreds. After a brief, heart breaking conversation, she died of blood loss. Later in the cave, Kyle found his father dead, already zipped up in a body bag. Kyle destroyed the entire cave with a single punch and headed home, heart-broken.
Kyle went through a brief period of changing his identity. He wore a black supersuit, that according to him, would use fear against his enemies. In his own words: "I finally realized how stupid I've been, Steven (Crimson-Cross). I've designed this suit to utilize the most powerful weapon I could have on the battlefield; Fear." Steve eventually talked him out of the whole thing, and Kyle is over his parents dying. Or at least he acts like he is...
