Personal Details
Origin
Michael Marcosy was born into poverty in the crime-ridden district of King's Row, shortly before the first Rikti War. His parents, volunteer firefighters, were killed in the initial Rikti Invasion while attempting to rescue civilians from the area of the city known as the Rikti Crash Site. Michael and his younger sister Claudette were sent to an orphanage in Galaxy City, where they spent the next ten years. At eighteen, Marcosy moved out of the orphanage and began work at a local store, making just enough money to support his sister and himself. Less than two years later, Claudette was killed when an Arachnos villain calling himself "Doctor Munoz" robbed the bank, killing several bystanders in the process. Michael, badly unbalanced by hatred and grief, spent the next four years training himself to the absolute peak of human physical prowess, mastering the most destructive Martial Art styles anyone would teach him and sometimes spending more than twelve hours a day lifting weights and exercising. After an early stint with Hero Corps as a junior, low-security hero, Michael enlisted with the Paragon Police Department and began compiling an impressive array of arrests. Dubbed "Maniac" by his co-workers for his frenetic, hostile attitude and behavior, Michael has led the PPD for the last four years in both total arrests and complaints of police brutality and excessive force. After pursuing and brutally beating Dr. Munoz to death, Marcosy requested reassignment to the Brickstown Precinct, to guard the gates of the Ziggursky Prison.
Personality
A vicious, grim, and unstable person, Maniac Marcosy treats nearly everyone with either scorn, contempt, or outright hostility. He views villains as scum, civilians as worthless sheep, and most other heroes as either weak, clueless, or lacking in moral fiber. At best, Marcosy is a tough, abrasive, but fair cop - at worst, he is a reckless, vindictive sociopath who will destroy whatever is in his way to hurt or damage the object of his anger.
Affiliations
As a member of the Paragon Police Department, Marcosy is obligated to defend the welfare of Paragon's citizenry, and can often be found investigating reports of villain activity in Paragon City. He is also a member of the SuperGroup "Power's Allegory", and sometimes enlists their help in his investigations. Other than his co-workers and fellow supergroup members, Marcosy appears to have only one friend - the bloodthirsty vigilante Tex Arthur. However, he does appear to be at least somewhat amicable to XM Radio and Sharlisse.
Organizations
Although previously a member of Hero Corps, and currently a member of Vanguard, Marcosy holds both these organizations in great contempt. He believes that Hero Corps has given heroes too free a rein in disregarding the laws of the city, and that Vanguard is irredeemably tainted by association with villains from the Rogue Isles. He also holds an undisguised hatred for Longbow, believing them to be 'scumbags who scorn the system to get their own way'. Marcosy respects only other members of the PPD and some (very few) prestigious heroes that he feels have upheld the true standard of civil responsibility and righteousness. These heroes are Positron, Manticore, and Castle.

Powers and Abilities
Maniac Marcosy is highly trained in Boxing, Kenpo and Tae Kwon Do, using powerful kicks with enough force to crush steel. Although not possessing super-strength, Marcosy's obsessive weight-lifting has made him immensely strong, capable of lifting over five hundred pounds and crushing any object less solid than a metal brick with the force of his grip; furthermore, his legs have been strengthened with special acrobatic training, giving him the ability to leap great distances into the air. His reflexes and perception are also near-superhuman, and he has consistently proven able to dodge bullets, explosions, and melee attacks with extreme efficiency. Although he possesses no superhuman durability, his constant training and large amount of muscle mass make him surprisingly resistant to physical injury.
After saving the Terra Volta reactor from a large contingent of Freakshow, Marcosy was irradiated and has since shown several instances of being able to exude harmless blue flame or electricity, as well as project a wave of disruptive energy. Marcosy's sunglasses have been modified to project focused lasers, but he carries no sidearm or any other firearm. However, he does carry a single 9mm parabellum round on a chain around his neck. He has never divulged its signifiance.
Recent Events
Marcosy's most recent assignments were investigation of Portal Corporation and Pocket D Surveillance, but after losing a public and visible battle against Arbiter Death and Se7en Deadly Sins in the Pocket D Arena, Marcosy was reprimanded and stripped of the assignment of Pocket D Surveillance, which was reassigned to a young policeman by the name of Ivan McManus. Marcosy's wounds were severe and slow to heal, and he longs for a rematch against Arbiter Death.
Marcosy has also recently been seen in the Rogue Isles. Word on the street is that he has somehow found a way to use the Pocket D elevator to pursue villains onto their home turf.

Trivia
- Marcosy was originally based on Inspector Tequila Yuen of the John Woo film Hard Boiled, as well as Enishi Yukishiro from the Rouroni Kenshin manga series.
- Despite all his brutal beatings of many of his suspects and arrestees, Marcosy has only ever killed one person - Dr. Munoz, the man who killed his sister.
- Hates all art, music, and dancing of any kind, and will vituperously reject any attempts to get him to have any "fun". Marcosy lives for only one thing - the brutal crushing and arrest of any villain he can get his hands on. And maybe a glass of tequila with an Alka-Seltzer in it.
