The Matbots
The matbots were created by a benevolent god and planet-like robotic being known as Matus. After Matus used his energy in creating them, he went into stasis and the Matbots colonized on him.
Matbot 1 was once but a lowly warrior known as Matbot Phi, one of the earlier models of Matbot but far from oldest. He hailed from the planet Matatron. He and Matatrouns, a fellow warrior were top ranked gladiators in the arenas of Maticon a large insustral city that was the capital of Matatron. Peace had reigned for a good time, but political issues would soon arise that would tear apart the bonds between Matbot Phi and Matatronus.
Civil War
Uknown to any of the matbots, a malevolent god had sent some of his heralds to infiltrate their planet's government and weaken the Matbots in preparation for invasion in which he would ultimately destroy his old rival, Matus. This god was another planet-like robot was known as Maticron. Both Matatronus and Matbot Phi agreed that something needed to be done about the newest laws. However Matbot Phi was deluded into thinking that the system would work in his favor, while Matatronus decided to take a more...direct approach in solving their problems. Matatrous killed several high ranking members of the high council including every last of the matbot primearchs. Matbot Phi inherited the Nexus of Leadership from the last remaining primarchs, learning of the moles. While they were ultimately forever torn apart Matbot Phi, now Matbot 1 due to his rank and Matatronus, Now the self-proclaimed Matcon 1 would have to join forces one more time to remove the moles. Afterward, Matcon 1 failed at a backstab on an already wary Matbot 1 and fled the planet knowing that the war had wasted all of it's resources and knowing that Maticron would destroy it anyway. Matbot 1 and his team of remaining matbots, who were all odd ranked while Matcon 1's army was all even ranked, gave chase while leaving a skeleton crew to watch for Maticron.
First arrival on earth
No data was recorded on this visit and one may guess that it was short lived as Maticron may have arrived at their homeworld sooner than expected. They left Matbot 7 on earth as a communications officer and to further protect earth after they already pledged to do so. Most likely also to send them mattergon, the power source of the matbots. However all of the even numbered matbots also seem to have had left at the same time. Matbot 7 moved to paragon at the time as that city seemed to be in more need of heroes than most others.
Return to Earth
After many years of battle against Maticron the Matbots all returned to earth. The odd numbered Matbots joined Matbot 7 in paragon city while the even ones decided to also go by the Matcons and arrived in the rouge isles where there was more opportunity to do evil and get away with it.

Trivia
- Matbot 1 is an obvious homage to Optimus Prime. Like his back-story his design is based on multiple optimus primes the desgin is mostly RID,movie, prime, and animated optimus prime and also slightly resembles Transtech Optimus Prime
- The "classic faceplate" is based on the original Optimus Prime
- After being remade in the Homecoming servers, Matbot 1's shield design was changed and the name was changed to reference the shield belonging to the Michael Bay movie version of Sentinel Prime. His chestplate was also changed to a lighter shade of blue to better resemble a windshield and he was given robotic wings.
- The Axe of Matbase is a reference to Cybertron Metroplex's axe, Sparkdrinker, which bares a slight resemblance to the Nemesis Staff, though that particular version of Metroplex does not turn into a base.
- Sadly there is no way to "Brave Perspective/Sunrise Stance" with the Axe of Matbase at the moment.
- The Wings of Planeflare are a reference to Optimus Prime's flight-capable super modes with the name being a reference Transformers Armada and the Micheal Bay movies where Optimus Prime combines with Jetfire.
