History
Tonia always wanted to be a hero, growing up on their exploits, reading about them in magazines, seeing them on tv. But she was simply an ordinary person, with no mutations, no ninja training, no father with a secret lab in his basement. Showing some athletic ability in high school, she trained hard, thinking maybe this was the path to her dream. She did manage to train her body to a good degree of strength and ability, and donned the super idenity of "Lady Might".
A few years later, she had achieved some small recognition for her efforts. But even though she trained hard, her ability simply wasn't up to par with many other "natural" heros. She became frustrated at the idea of always being a "minor league hero" enough that she even considered changing careers. While arresting a villain scientist, though, she discovered his project: a custom hybrid of superadine, steroids, and experimental drugs designed to be a "super-power drug". In a moment of weakness, she took it and used it on herself.
Her strength increased manyfold, and her career began to take off. But even as Lady Might hit the 'Big Leagues", her choices came back to haunt her. The drug put a lot of stress on her system, and over the years of use, her muscles and bones began to deteriorate, and her organs started to fail. She became increasingly less able to fight crime, and soon her secret was out.
She found herself at the center of a "Super-steroid" controversy, adding insult to the injury of her body. The scandal might have continued for much longer, were it not for the Second Rikti War. Not only did it distract from her story, but the scavenged medical technology allowed a small team of doctors and scientists to fit her with cybernetic organs, bones, and even arms. This saved her life, and the alloys and mechanics used gave her back her great strength.
Taking the new name "Mechla", few would recognize the wordly cyborg woman for the young idealist "Lady Might". She returned to heroing full-time, feeling she owes a debt to those who saved her, and to heros in general.
Personality
Mechla is, understandably, a bit unsure of herself. She is rather sensitive of her "hero image", worried how others might judge her words or actions as they reflect on the "hero ideal". Thus, she is a bit reserved, taking a while to warm up to a person. Perhaps because of her powers, she prefers a direct approach to solving problems, and has a little trouble with subtlety.
Cybernetic Implants
Mechla's skeletal structure is reinforced with rikti-created alloys. Her arms are entirely mechanical, possesing the strength to break stone and twist steel. also, many of her internal organs are implants, which have a grater efficiancy and resistance to damage.
Other Equipment
Mechla also wears armor crafted of a similar material as her arms. Her visor uses a simple comm/tactical display program; she calls it her "combat iPhone".
