Affiliations
Mei is employed as a manager at Club Babylon's Talos branch, and maintains a network of contacts in many circles, particularly the occult and intelligence communities.
Personality
Mei inhabits a gray area - tough as nails, merciless tease, philosopher, and woman full of regrets. She can be mercurial, but generally enjoys needling others and flirtation when dealing with unknowns. Her friends seem to perceive her as intelligent and philosophically inclined - more eager to hear than talk, once she gets the opportunity to get someone started. Occasionally, she makes references to a checkered past; "monuments to all my sins" is a frequent line when she gets morose. She speaks of loyalty to her friends as being a new idea to her. Of course, the 'woman of many masks' line may be more metaphor than literal.
Mei fights conservatively, regardless of her current power suite - professional and focused on returning the team home.
Powers
Mei's powers involve a set of masks, corresponding to the Tarot, invoking aspects of her personality and giving them power. She may swap masks easily, as long as her hands are free - she has been known to be able to switch to specific masks without making the physical gesture, though.
The Fool
Personified by Artemis, the Fool is the old Mei, arguably the 'true' Mei - a huntress, vicious and skillful, yet innocent in some ways. The Fool grants Mei constant regeneration, and halts her aging, while maintaining her body in peak physical shape regardless of Mei's off-again on-again exercise schedule. In addition, Mei will never miss a shot that she has laid in wait to take.
Even so, Mei ultimately relies on the fact that she is a highly competent agent with this mask, both as a shooter and in melee, using her Krav Maga and her automatic rifle to maximum effect without magical help.
The High Priestess
Personified by the Queen of Sheba, the High Priestess is an advisor, someone who seeks to guide friends along by pointing them to the answers within themselves instead of relying on her for everything. Dubbed the Principessa Oscura when she wears it, Mei creates sticky shadows that mire enemies in regret and despair, preventing them from harming her allies.
The Lovers
Personified by Bastet, the Lovers represent Mei's commitment to a specific cause, specifically the protection of a loved one. Shrouding herself in the spark of humanity this has engendered within her, Mei carries a greatsword, made by a loved one, to remind her that she is no longer alone. Her style favors supreme power over speed, getting that massive greatsword moving and keeping it moving, shrugging off blows to maintain pressure on the target. Meihime no Okami takes the lead when battle comes, fearless in the protection of that which is dear to her.
Strength
Personified by Durga, Strength gives Mei the power to strike swiftly and savagely to bring her enemies down. Drawing on her inner darkness, Mei strikes at both mind and body, sapping the will to fight from her targets, purely aggressive while wearing this mask. The Princesse Noire refuses to back down, relentlessly savaging the foe until nothing is left.
The Devil
Personified by Inanna, the Devil represents the chains Mei places upon herself - integrity, honor, and discipline. This mask allows Mei to manipulate water, both inside and outside the body, and generate a series of poisons and pheromones with varying effects on the human body.
Judgment
Personified by the archangel Gabriel, Judgment represents Mei's willingness to look back and resolve her past. This mask allows Mei to manipulate the spark of humanity, both within objects and the world, as electricity. This allows her to both cripple human technology, and immobilize living creatures through overwhelming application of electricity. The warmth of compassion fills her, as well, allowing her to heal wounds and protect others with cleansing fire.
Keep In Touch
Replacing her ability to Shadow Step ever since her outlook changed, Mei has the power to 'transmit' herself over any kind of communications line.
Abilities
Despite being formerly homeless and lacking in funding, Mei has demonstrated broad knowledge of many disciplines - she has done emergency medicine, demonstrated knowledge of statutes, a certain amount of historical knowledge, and seems to know at least a couple of languages (specifically Japanese and French). She has a significant amount of useful philosophical knowledge, as well. She possesses a talent for stealth, able to blend in and move undetected without effort, even without her alluring aura. It is unknown where she picked up all of these skillsets. Being a bartender, Mei has memorized most IBA mixed cocktails, and seems to have an extremely good memory. Her management skills tend more to the hands-on, however, being blunt and straightforward.
She is also a fully qualified practitioner of Krav Maga.
Equipment
Mei requires no equipment, and usually carries just a waterproofed, EMP-resistant cell phone, a deck of tarot cards, and an iPod, though she occasionally draws an impervium knife or a sidearm.
History
Investigation into Meihime's history always seems to end quickly, without resolving anything - sometimes it seems as though Mei did not exist before registering with the FBSA. Mei has made reference to a checkered history, but no one has been inclined to follow up.
