Meru grew up normal, the only off thing about her life was that she was adopted, her adopted parents for all purposes in her world were her only parents. She went to school, studied to be a nurse, she enjoyed being able to heal people when they needed her most, school was one of the best times in her life. One night when she was walking out of the hospital where she worked and was knocked out, only to wake to being surrounded by the Circle of Thorns. They explained to her, who she was, the only born of a legendary couple, who had great powers within. They taught her their ways, how to summon, and gave her the power of healing, beyond what she could have dreamed before.
