Miss Apple Pie
Origin
Rebecca 'Becky Belle' Campbell was a Pin-Up model in the '30s. In 1941 she was invited to host a Cheer-Up Show for the Allied Soldiers during WWII. On the night after the show, she witnessed a confrontation between Nazi super-spy Maximillian Rothschild and British secret agent John Willows. Rothschild stole the only sample of the Mach-6 Superhuman Enhancer Formula that was being secretly transported to the US for analysis and mass production; and Willows was after him to stop him form taking the formula to Hitler.
During the struggle, Rothschild mortally wounded Willows and the vial rolled to Becky's feet. Rothschild commanded Becky to surrender the vial to him if she wanted to stay alive. Knowing that she would be killed anyway, Becky picked up the vial and drank the formula without knowing what it was. Rothschild hit Becky in the face and she answered with a slap that broke Rothschild's neck. The fast acting formula had granted her super strength, increased stamina and durability.
The Poster Girl
After the incident, Becky Belle was hired by the US Army to be the 'Poster Girl' of the Allied Superhero fighting force. She was given the Codename: Miss Apple Pie and was given a shield because it looked good on the camera and partially covered the skimpy impractical uniform the military assigned her. At first she was ok with the deal; but little by little, she became an active combatant, learning from the other heroes and fighting the good fight, dealing with missions that would have killed regular soldiers.
Military Property
Once WWII was over, Miss Apple Pie tried to retire; but was coerced into working for the Military. Since she no longer aged, the Military faked Becky Belle's death and kept Apple Pie in a secure facility called Area 36, where she and other meta-humans were virtually prisoners.
During the Cold War, Miss Apple Pie and the meta-humans of Area 36 worked as Black Ops for the Military. While doing a reconnaissance mission, the small group of meta-humans decided to try their luck and escape. They faked a distress signal and blew up their transport. After that, they each went their separate way and vowed never to try and contact each other again, so in case the military got hold of one of them, he or she couldn't tell them the location of the others.
Lovely Mrs. Cain
For a whole year, Rebecca lead a nomadic life. She moved from town to town, working as a waitress or bar singer whenever she could. While working on a small diner in the middle of nowhere, she fell in love with the local auto mechanic, and WWII veteran, Kristopher Cain. Rebecca shared her secret with Kristopher and he made it his life mission to protect her. They moved in together but never married fearing the record could alert the group of Area 36. They had 3 children [Alison, Richard and Basil] who, unlike Rebecca, did age normally, but were all very healthy kids who never knew what having a flu was.
Rebecca saw her children grow and her husband age and understood that she would outlive them all. After 35 years of marriage, Kristopher died at the age of 75. His death was a huge blow to Rebecca. Thanks to her daughter Alison's intervension, Rebecca moved to Paragon City to be closer to her grandchildren.
Out of Retirement
May 23rd, 2002, the Rikti Invasion began. Rebecca, figuring that by now Area 36 should be just a memory, decide to do her part to help. For a while she worked on her own, trying to protect her neighborhood; but as the war escalated, she realized she couldn't do things alone. Rebecca signed in to be a registered Super-heroine and Miss Apple Pie fought under Vanguard's wing.
Miss Apple Pie survived the Rikti War and remains a super-heroine, fighting for freedom and justice in the city of Paragon.
Powers and Abilities
Super Strength
Rebecca is aproximately as strong as 20 men. She can lift a car with little effort. She has punched through concrete and bricks; and once killed a man with a single slap [the very first time she hit someone after drinking the formula]
Increased Stamina
Rebecca can run at full speed [30mph] for a mile and a half before showing signs of fatigue. She can fight for extended periods of time, but the tougher the battle the faster she tires.
Increased Durability
Rebecca's bones are more durable than normal human bones, her skin is more resistant; nevertheless her bones can be broken and she can be wounded. All of her body systems work with maximun efficiency, which makes her inmune to diseases and toxins. Also, her cells don't degenerate on their own, so she might never die of natural causes.
Combat Expertise
Rebecca Campbell is 104 years old. She has decades of combat experience and over time has mastered several fighting styles, all of which she routinely practices not to forget them. She's familiar with most firearms, although she prefers to avoid them if she can. Her training and combat experience make her a great tactitian and a formidable fighter.
Equipment
Photon Shield
Miss Apple Pie's only weapon is her Photon shield. An improvement over the round steel shield she wielded in the '40s and '50s; it was a gift from japanese scientist Dr. Shiro Kabuto for rescuing his family form the Marconi Mob.
The Photon Shield has a resistance 5 times stronger than diamond and can disperse most energy, magical and elemental attacks. Its command module is a wristband that Rebecca wears at all times.
Its battery is solar powered, although any type of light can charge it. Dr. Kabuto also gave Apple Pie the blueprints so she could have it fixed if it broke down and he were unavailable. Rebecca guards them zealously and the shield has never failed.
