Abilities
Miss Havok is something of an arcane leech. Her powers lie in her ability to siphon off the magical energies of items and to a lesser extent the ambient magical energy of her enviornment and turn it into celestial lightning.
Weaknesses and Limitations
She must carry around, or be exposed to magical items and artifacts in order to power her abilities. As she increases in strength, the magical items she uses become dead and lifeless, simple mundane items, so she must find new sources of power. Recently she's discovered that certain inventions can prolong, almost indefinitely, the energy she can absorb from the enviornment, making this much less of a concern than it previously was.
Equipment
Though she doesn't carry them around, she has several sets of arcane tomes plundered by her adoptive father.
Character History
Katiana was an orphan found in a Russian orphanage in Moscow. Her adoptive father, Christopher Janson, a 'less than reputable' archaeologist, more commonly known among his 'peers' as a tomb raider, recognized her undiscovered powers and adopted her, bringing her with him to many dark and forgotten parts of the world. Thinking that her father loved her, Katiana traveled with him and helped him find ancient and forgotten artifacts of long forgotten gods.
What her father didn't tell her was that he was seeking these items for his own power. She was to be a sacrifice. The magical power he was absorbing through these locations would be transferred to him with her sacrifice and the proper ritual. However the ritual went wrong and Christopher Janson was killed, leaving Katiana strapped to the table that was to be her death, for weeks, until she'd lost enough weight to slip from the bonds that held her there.
Seeing her father for what he was, she decided that she would never be used again. The 17 year old girl walked out of her house in San Diego, set it ablaze, and never returned. She became a manipulator herself, taking out her feelings on those she could manipulate into getting her what she wanted. She felt she was owed that much in life. Learning what she could from the armload of tomes she took from her home before it was reduced to ash, she found how to use her powers to her own ends, and started seeking out items to use to fuel her powers.
