History
Jennifer Sable, Her husband Gabriel Lanlock, and a handful of other elite Arachnos Soldiers and Widows were specifically chosen to train in the Aquatics Special Operations Division of the Arachnos by Lord Recluse himself in a plot to invade Paragon City by sea. Gabriel and Jennifer were the only candidates to complete their training and were married through the program. One day, the duo was given a mission to destroy a Longbow Training Base on a secret island off the coast of Peregrine Island and to leave no witnesses. However, during the operation the Araquas learned that the trainees were only children, and having a son of their own, they aborted the mission. Disappointed, Lord Recluse and his Black Squadron raided the Araquas home and killed their son, Robert Lanlock. Enraged by their son’s murder, the Araquas swore to kill Lord Recluse and to bring down the Arachnos.
Aquatic Crusade
With the help of Matthew Burke and a unique hero with the power to control water called the Blue Barrage, the Araquas flooded the WEB and trapped Barracuda in electrified water. Blue Barrage, Mistress Araqua, and Araqua were successful in flooding most of Grandeville, but were unsuccessful in defeating Lord Recluse and his lackey, Captain Mako. All three were killed in the battle and made examples to all Arachnos and any daring hero. .
Equipment
Mistress Araqua’s suit is mostly barren with a modified Spider Pack that holds a water-to-air converter module and a small jet propeller. Her helmet is modified so that when she zips up her collar, it immediately deploys the helmet over her head which supplies her air. Jennifer’s suit can create spike-like weapons around her fist, allowing her to stab and slash at her enemies.
Means of Travel
Jet Swim: With her sleek suit alone, Mistress Araqua can travel up to 5 mph. With the help of the miniature jet propeller in her Spider-Pack, she can swim up to 10 mph.
Weakness
No weaknesses have been reported for Mistress Araqua, but she has been noticed to only attack under or in water.
Nemeses
Mistress Araqua’s true nemesis is Lord Recluse, but she also holds a grudge against the Arachnos.
