History
Malyssa was born in a creche-hold of House Eritrea on an extra-dimensional parallel Earth. This Earth had suffered a full out nuclear exchange and was a radioactive barren wasteland for the most part, with a rough feudal/territorial system establishing control over limited areas of land, preferably with decent resources.
Raised as a member of the House's warrior-class, the Enforcers, she served the dual function of police officer/soldier. Through hard work, dedication and unswerving commitment to the House Eritrea Lord and Lady, she ascended to the rank of Corporal in the House Enforcers. She lost her left eye while patrolling the radioactive rubble of the local urban ruin, colloquially referred to as the Geiger Ghettoes, when a grotesquely mutated person attacked her with an improvised weapon made of rusty nails.
The resultant infection and possible tetanus surely would have killed her had her own mutation not manifested itself shortly thereafter. Discovering she had faster than normal reflexes and rapid healing/regeneration abilities, she was elevated to the House Enforcer Elite Escort Squad, the Lord and Lady's personal Praetorian Guard.
Arrival on our Earth
During a diplomatic visit to another House to establish trade relations, the slave gladiator E'enstar escaped custody and used the House Kilrannon Dimensional Vortex to escape her world entirely. Malyssa or "Malicious" as she was nicknamed, was assigned to follow and apprehend or kill E'enstar.
The Dimensional Vortex being relatively crude, the two travelers arrived, astoundingly enough, on the same world, but at different times, Malyssa arriving nearly a full year ahead of E'enstar. During her hunt for the escaped gladiator Malyssa, now operating under the nom de guerre "Mistress Malicious" was apprehended by Longbow for multiple murders and imprisoned in the Zig.
During Arachnos' massive breakout of "potentials", Mistress Malicious was delivered to Mercy Island, whereupon she promptly disappeared into the ruinous underworld and began her own life of crime and mayhem.
War of the Houses
Months later, her power having grown to include flight and other meta-human abilities, Malyssa was summoned back to her Earth to defend House Eritrea from the ravages of the invading House Gorham.
Malyssa was only partly successful in this. House Eritrea eventually had to sue House Gorham for peace and is now an annex of House Gorham's territories, autonomous only in name. Malyssa was elevated by her former Lord to the title of Duchess, Lady Captain of the Middle March.
Return
After years of striving for, and gaining power in this world, Malyssa joined the Torture Chamber and met her great love...Darren Firewalker. The two were an established couple for a long time before Darren asked Malyssa to marry him. She accepted and he now resides in her world as her Consort.
Malyssa has considered making a play for the Crown herself, though this would mean at the very least assassinating Queen Jass. At the most it would mean total warfare in her realm. Toward this end, she has been working small deals for arms with various underworld agencies. She has also been approached by the United Nations for consideration of aid in exchange for an extra-planar trade agreement. She's not sure what they would want, but she's considering the deal.
Despite her group's violent anti-Arachnos policy, Malyssa entered into an agreement with Ghost Widow; Malyssa would perform various favors for the tortured Arachnos elite in exchange for training in her increasingly bizarre variety of mutant powers that have been awakened or twisted by her repeated extra-dimensional travel. In light of this betrayal and in the face of other internal political machinations, Malyssa has left the Torture Chamber, though with no ill will on her part.
Personality
Malyssa's personal style of interaction has evolved as her life has progressed. Upon her initial arrival she was aggressive and crude, exhibiting mannerisms appropriate to her role as a lower echelon soldier. Later, after her return from the War of the Houses, she had acquired a more courtly manner as befits a titled noble.
She is also far more confident in her own intellectual abilities. At first she was convinced that she was just a "dumb grunt". But under Rockin' Funeral's influence, her rather impressive intelligence flowered, allowing her to comprehend more of the world around her and bring some improvements to her own world.
She has exhibited a surprising technical prowess, showing an ability to debug computers (or "Babbage Engines" as they are known in her world), and lend a hand in repairing highly technical drones, robots and androids. She also seems to have a spotty, though sophisticated, knowledge of some of the higher concepts of quantum physics and nuclear technology.
Sexually, Malyssa is not discriminatory. Before her Arachnos-facilitated escape, Malyssa had made two nearly successful escape attempts, both times seducing guards, one male guard and one female.
Since her release she has had several "relations", though only one serious relationship. Her ideas about sex seem to be fairly laissez faire, indulging in it both as an expression of deep commitment or as simple recreational fun.
Her libido is ravenous and all-encompassing. She is rarely "not in the mood".
In combat Malyssa is as aggressive as one might expect from a trained warrior. She has no compunction about killing her foes, often employing her stealth to approach a target close up and kill it with a single blow, if possible. If not possible, Malyssa will fight ceaselessly, pummeling her enemies to submission or death with her fists.
Powers
Malyssa is a mutant. She has an incredible regenerative ability and can take a lot of abuse before battle damage overwhelms her body's ability to repair itself. She has also shown an astounding amount of resilience and toughness in general.
Her other abilities appear to be mentalist in nature. Her stealth seems to employ a subtle unconscious telepathic suggestion to ignore her, and she can re-engage this ability even in the midst of combat. Her flight may be a form of psychokinesis. And she employs a "life transfer" ability in combat to aid her self-healing that may be an unexplained psychic phenomenon. Additionally, her attacks may be "boosted" by a psychic channeling of darker emotions into the opponent to baffle or overwhelm them. Some few survivors of her attacks have also reported that she has, with a glare, filled them with so much fear that they became hallucinatory, believing her to be Death incarnate, such fear being so paralyzing that it became difficult to defend themselves as she beat them nearly to death.
