Darren is the son of one of Paragon City's eminent occultists, Damien Childe. The elder Childe was lost when the Circle of Thorns interrupted one of his rituals. Believing his father is still alive, Darren has vowed to find him and crush the Circle while he does so.
In order to exact his revenge, Darren consulted his father's book of darkest magic and summoned a demon to do his bidding. This particular demon, Vulgara, works through possession of its master, for that is the best way to ultimately subvert its host body and deliver a soul to Hell. Darren's control of the beast is tenuous at best, which is why he wears the pentagram on his chest. Every moment Vulgara works insidiously to corrupt the young man, using his demonfire to fuel the boy's hate and slake his thirst for revenge... while burning away his goodness one lick of flame at a time.
Darren's willing to risk both his life and his immortal soul to find his father, which makes him dangerous, while channeling Vulgara's power makes him formidable indeed. Pray he never loses control of the monster within.
