Nobody is certain where Mr Ant comes from. Actually, nobody bothered to find out. One reason could be the inability to communicate with Ant, who does not have the vocal cords to speak human language. Ant was first seen creeping around some of the radioactive cesspools in Mercy Island. Does that mean that he is a mutant created by Dr Geist? The evil Dr Geist denies it.

Ant appears to be of human-level intelligence, at least enough to get hold of an environment suit. It appears that he wears it so as not to alarm people with his appearance. It's unclear why there is a cockroach symbol on his suit. Unless...Ant is not really an ant, but a...?

Although Ant is of human-level intelligence, people who have associated with him have described his reasoning and sense of morality as rather peculiar. That is, "normal" people, as normal as they can get in the Rogue Isles. The shadier type have made no comments. In fact, Ant gets along marvelously with them!
