Mrs. Ralph Emmerson

Mrs. Ralph Emmerson is a Garlx, an alien from another dimension with the ability to radiate energy and produce bubbles of energy to protect others.

Physical Description

It's very hard to describe Mrs. Ralph Emmerson's physiology or even his basic appearance as eye-witness accounts vary from person to person. He is popularly described as looking like a kung fu lizard, or an Egyptian genie, although other wildly different descriptions have been made. What is known is that he stands 4 feet tall and is humanoid in build. His skin is an unusual colour.

History

Mrs. Ralph Emmerson (original name unknown) was first banished to this dimension over 200 years ago. This judgement was passed down by his own people the Garlx for refusing to commit crimes against humanity. His sentence was to be left deep underwater on planet Earth, where it was presumed he'd be stuck for thousands or hundreds of years.

He was discovered on the ocean floor by a group of coal miners in 1848, who originally mistook him for an old wooden chest filled with riches. For freeing him from the ocean, the alien agreed to grant them three wishes, but was unsure whether he would be able to do so. After deciding carefully, the miners decided that the first wish would be that he be able to grant them wishes. The second wish was for their new friend to become a powerful superhero and help humanity wherever he goes. The third wish was that he be named Mrs. Ralph Emmerson. Mrs. Ralph Emmerson went on to help many people (in rich Western countries). In 1876, noted for his bravery in saving all of Britain from a great moose, Mrs. Ralph was brought before the King of England who knocked on the alien's head for good luck. After this, England did not fight any wars until the mid-1910s. Since then, knocking on Mrs. Ralph's head has been considered a source of great luck.

Mrs. Ralph currently resides in Paragon City.

Personality

While very compassionate and dedicated to the protection of others, Mrs. Ralph is very bewildered by Earth and finds it difficult to understand the world around him. He often finds himself applying for jobs as waitresses in sports bars and purposely losing games of Strip Snooker just for the attention. He has great difficulty telling his true friends from those who simply want to meet him for the chance to glean great luck from knocking on his forehead. Those who would call themselves his friend will find a loyal companion, if hard to relate to.

Abilities

Mrs. Ralph Emmerson is a multi-talented alien with a plethora of abilities, skills, and gadgets. For instance, he can do tons of stuff! He can do so many things, specifically.

Powers

Aside from his gift of great luck, and his one-time ability to grant three wishes to a group of confounded gold rush era miners, Mrs. Ralph Emmerson's greatest gift is his ability to project force bubbles.

Mrs. Ralph has yet to discover a means of using these bubbles for any purpose other than to protect friends from enemy attacks, and attempts to use it to keep soda carbonated have proven highly ineffective at best.

He also possesses the ability to exert bursts of radiation from his hands and head. It's debated whether he can do this from other extremities, such as his feet, although there is no recorded evidence of him ever doing so. While this radiation is a powerful weapon, it also keeps him warm and makes his friends avoid skin contact. Once a buddy of his shook his hand and had a weird sort of rash there for a while. It wasn't even funny.

Additionally, Mrs. Ralph has the ability to fly, which he does with maybe wings. In addition to flying, he can also hover, also with or possibly without wings.

Non-Super Abilities

As per Victoria's wishes, Mrs. Ralph Emmerson underwent extensive leadership training. His tactical expertise is of extensive benefit on the battlefield, and should he ever decide to leave the world of crime-fighting, he would make an excellent mid-level manager for a large corporation.

Gadgets

Over time, Mrs. Ralph has made friends in unusual places who often give him gifts. Somewhere down the line he has been bestowed with a healing ray. Pretty sweet, huh?

Friends, Allies, and Enemies

Mrs. Ralph Emmerson knows a lot of people. A buddy of his once got a really bad rash. Also, once he totally forgot to pick up Jody's kids from soccer practice and that was a real drag. However, he has great difficulty telling his true friends from those who simply want to meet him for the chance to glean great luck from knocking on his forehead.

For some reason, Mrs. Ralph Emmerson seems to believe he is close friends with many prominent people in Paragon City. This may stem from the fact that even the most distant of acquaintances is still nicer to him than the average Garlx, or just a general misunderstanding of the nature of human friendships.

Victoria I

Mrs. Ralph and Victoria have been friends ever since they met when she was the king of England in 1876. Then, she knocked on his head for luck. Knocking on Mrs. Ralph Emmerson's head has since been considered a source of great luck.

David Wincott

As far as old Mrs. Ralph is concerned, David is a dear close friend. Sometimes Mrs. Ralph hangs out in the Hollows and says hi and brings David some doughnuts since he's a pretty cool dude.

Swan

Mrs. Ralph sees Swan as a close personal friend. Swan is barely aware of who he is.

Jody

Jody's kids play soccer. Mrs. Ralph sometimes picks them up from practice but one time he forgot.
