It was a challenge, really. Myriad and a few friends sat chatting in an obscure spot in the Internet. Despite the password protection, an uninvited identity popped up with a single web address and the words, “Dare you to try.” One look at the site’s seemingly flimsy programming at first put off Myriad’s interest, but closer inspection revealed two pages under lock and key. “I’ll be first,” she claimed, and she was. But the pages were boring; placeholders filled with what appeared elaborate lorem ipsum text.
Two nights later, while sitting on her bed flipping lazily through TV channels, her body was engulfed in inky fingers of fog, and she was teleported deep into the Hollows. After an hour of torture, the cloaked figures believed the young girl indeed did not realize the incantations were genuine. However, she must be punished. “You enjoy puzzles, yes, young girl? We shall grant you your own enigma, then...”
She awoke in her own bed, slick burn scars of ancient symbols along her inner arms, and a shadow-self inside. She calls the event the Shadow Fall.
