Powers
Net's mutation allows her to "feel" data - when she interacts with electrical devices (computers, PDAs, phones and such) she can sense the weak electronic forces involved in their operation. On a more basic level, she can sense Alpha-Radiance and coalesce it in to a coherent picture in her mind. This, combined with a high IQ and natural affinity for electronics and computing, gives her an unprecedented level of interaction and skill with electronic devices of all types.
While she does not consider herself violent, Net can manifest defensive and offensive maneuvers if she must. She can concentrate and manipulate Alpha-Radiance signatures that flow through an object (a person, a barrel, et cetera but usually nothing bigger than herself without serious effor) and throw, hurl, hold or otherwise control her target (this is represented by the Mind Control primary powerset). In a more offensive stance, she can focus on her own Alpha-Radiance and project it out as blasts of energy. This is detrimental to her health however, and she rarely uses it unless it is absolutely necessary (this is represented by the Energy Manipulation secondary powerset).
Weaknesses and Limitations
As mentioned above, Net's ability to project energy is detrimental to her health. Too much exertion wears her out and if she expends extreme amounts of energy, she could slip in to a coma or die. She is not physically strong either and avoids physical confrontations whenever possible. Despite having no active psychic barriers, the nature of her mind shrouds her thoughts and memories in a perpetual "cloud of light" - this has a positive aspect of protecting her mind from most types psychic attacks, but is also negative in that she cannot concentrate on anything for very long unless it pertains to data, information or numbers.
Personality
Net is very much a geek, a nerd, a wirehead and whatever else describes someone who immerses themselves in computing and it's requisite disciplines. She constantly carries a laptop and backpack and when nothing interests her, she will sit down and start typing away. Usually, her screen is a mosaic of browser windows, consoles, debuggers and other things: she can multitask with ease and speed. To a casual observer, her screen is a blur of data and information that looks unrelated and chaotic; in Net's eyes, however, she is a master of this chaos and everything has a purpose.
Her mutation allows her to access and digest digital information on a deep level to the point where voluminous amounts of data can overwhelm her. When this happens, she appears to go in to a trance and may not come out of it unless someone forces her out (usually by physical contact). This overwhelming sensation for her is pleasurable and she finds it a bit addicting at times; given this, she sometimes deliberately finds a way to separate herself from others so she can sit at her laptop and immerse herself in dataflows. More often than not, she simply brings up a Mandelbrot fractal generator or a Mersenne prime search and lets it run while she goes in to a trance.
Despite this, Net tries to be outgoing and social; she is a tomboy and loves to meet new people, especially if they're geeky like her. She hates the stereotype that all geeks are social introverts with bad haircuts and pimples; one look at her, of course, dispels that myth entirely.

- Net can sleep for days on end and not feel any adverse affect. Along the same lines, she can stay up for several days without any long-term ramifications.
- She was suspended from high school for three months after she got in to the school's computers, stole the home addresses and personal information of all of the teachers and posted it online.
- When in the midst of one of her "trances," her eyes turn clear white.
- She is slightly obsessive-compulsive: she will sometimes count her steps or spend several minutes washing her hands.
