Personality
( Work in progress! )
Nahaji has a very quiet, reserved, and disciplined character. She prefers to wear her baggy hooded desert costume so as not to attract undue attention to herself, and often will remain hidden while she observes people.
She is unwilling and in some ways unable to make friendships with others due to the nature of her powers. She is near-immortal so to her, human lives burn out too quickly for her to wish to form any emotional attachments. Those who are also immortal however, she more often than not tasked by her master to destroy for the sake of maintaining the precarious balance between life, and death.

The Jackal's Gift
( Work in progress )
Anubis is one of the ancient egyptian death-gods, attributed with guarding the underworld, embalming, funeral rites, and weighing the souls of the dead to determine their fate. Anubis traditionally appears in the form of a man in Egyptian garb with a jackal's head. He is the one who greets the souls in the Underworld and protects them on their journey.
Ancient Egyptian texts say that Anubis silently walked through the shadows of life and death and lurked in shadowed places. He weighs the hearts of the dead against the feather symbol of Ma’at, the goddess of truth, as such he represents the delicate balance between life and death.
Nahaji's true power is derived directly from this ancient deity. She is a chosen champion of the god, gifted with a small amount of his power to enable her to carry out tasks he appoints to her. The secret to her power is one she will never willingly speak of to anyone. She believes it is disrespectful to the gods to make claims to their greatness. Nahaji believes she is merely a tool to be used, and she accepts the fate she has been delivered, regardless of the emotional and phyical pain it causes her.
As to the relationship between god and champion, it can be a fickle one. Anubis grants her immortality so long as she follows orders and carries out his will to the best of her abilities. She still feels every pain a normal human would, and can be killed, but the god will send her back to the world of the living so long as he feels she is worth sending. Her actions up until her return to the Underworld determine the length of time she must remain and the powers she will be granted upon her return. The better she does in battle, the sooner she is returned, often with an increase to the power she is granted access to. The reverse is true for if she performs dishonorably, or poorly against her target. In that case, she must remain in the Underworld far longer and face being returned with less power, if she is granted return at all.
