Character
There has yet to be an effective analysis of the Ko clan's ninja enforcers known as Niryu. The pair have operated in a variety of disguises and false lives over the past ten years and show no signs at all of having any unifying human behaviour that could indicate a psychological profile.
When not cloaked by the lies and imprecations of the life the Ko clan directs them to assume, both parts of Niryu are cold, efficient, and lacking in almost anything that could be called a leisure life. This may be due to the pair possessing fanatical devotion to the Ko's aims, or it may be another front the pair put forward to protect themselves.
Powers
To say that the twins are 'unpowered' individuals is both true and false. They do not present as anything but normal humans on a genetic test - they have no 'mutation' as per the classic power determination. And while the pair do employ a variety of small, ninja house magics, they aren't brought to bear in actual combat.
When considered as a combat force, the twins are purely examples of high-calibre human capability. The two have pushed the limits of their human ability such that they are able to fight together, one completely hidden in the chaos of war caused by the other, who fights completely visibly. Thanks to the form of combat, the pair are able to avoid one another, and use the coordination to create openings for one another.

Themes
The Niryu pair lack, at this point, a really cogent theme beyond 'I wanted a ninja to put in the Ko.'

- Niten and Hiten have been named interchangeably at any given point in time. I can't keep them straight, so don't feel bad if you don't care to try.
