Her name can also be spelled Nuwairah, but someone had already picked it. It's Arabic for "small fire".

Character History
Her childhood was remarkably uneventful even with growing up in Port Oakes. In fact, it likely would have remained 'normal' except for the events of one particular day. She was on her way home from the movies and didn't notice the group of Circle of Thorns mages until it was too late.
The mages dragged her off to one of their caves intent upon using her as a sacrifice in a summoning rite. All was going as planned, her throat had been cut as part of the ritual and as she lay dying, a mage spoke the final words. But then, something went wrong. Whether or not the mage flubbed the spell or the summoned entity had other ideas is unknown, but chaos erupted then. A creature of elemental fire appeared, in ancient texts sometimes called a Salamander, and was infuriated at having been dragged to this plane. He entered Nu's body and used the dying girl's remaining life energy to unleash a brutal attack on the mages, killing them all in one stroke.
Satisfied by his revenge, the Salamander attempted to return to his home plane, only to find that he could not. However incorrectly that the ritual had been performed, the binding at least was true. He was now linked to this plane through Nu. Not wanting to remain stuck to a corpse, he used his power, now greatly diminished due to the binding, to restore her to life and grant her some access to his fire abilities.
He forced her to wake and gave her a new name, Nuwayrah, which meant 'small fire'. Dazed and uncertain what had happened, Nu stumbled home and has spent her time since trying to cope with her new powers and the strange urges they bring.
In the beginning, the Salamander remained quiescent, only pushing her from time to time. He did have some control over her healing power, and had suppressed it when he felt that she should learn something from her injuries. However, due to Xodd's interference, Nuwayrah now has full control over her Fire abilities, and the Salamander is a more subdued 'passenger' within her.
Personality
Broken. She has almost accepted her place as Xodd's toy, and focuses her efforts on trying to please him. Occasionally, she will resist or complain, but gives in after being punished. She is nervous and uncertain, conflicted even.
Affiliations
Xodd- She made the mistake of talking to him one day, and has been his plaything ever since.
Powers
All of her fire powers originate from the being that lives in her.
Fire Blast
With this power she can either target an individual foe or launch a fireball that would hit a small group. When she is stressed or the Salamander is manifesting, small rivulets of fire may course along her arms and back.
Thermal Radiation
She uses this aspect of her powers primarily to heal herself, although anyone standing close to her would benefit from this ability. She can also surround others with fiery shields, but seems unable to protect herself in the same manner.

Weaknesses and Limitations
She is, while no longer controlled by the Salamander, still somewhat influenced by him. The urge to burn, whether it be places or people, grows stronger in her as time passes.
Her desperation to escape Xodd, and her disturbing attraction to him, has recently driven her to kill a complete stranger in order to obtain a weapon reputed to be able to kill demons. It had no effect on Xodd. She has since performed many other acts of mayhem, murder and destruction because of her owner, and has even begun to...like them.
Equipment
She possesses nothing that Xodd does not allow her to have. Amused by her attempt to kill him, he let her keep the gun which she rarely carries. Other than that, and a few small items, her only possessions are her clothes and a leather collar.
Roleplay Notes
-The scent of Sandalwood mixed with a faint trace of burned flesh lingers about her at all times. This combined scent is not very strong, but it is noticeable, on par with a moderate application of perfume.
-Characters sensitive to magical auras would detect one about her, dark and elemental in nature.
-She speaks in a low, raspy voice due to the deep scar across her throat. Sometimes she wears a collar to cover it.
