Orzell
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
OOC Notes - Orzell is a very fun character for me. She's spicy, quick witted, and much more forward than most of my characters. I enjoy her powerset just as much as the RP behind the character. ~Akkai

On your Mark
Orzell had the beginnings of hero bred into her. Her mom, although she's never spoken of it, was a mutant herself and had carried the genes onto her daughter. It was little to no surprise that one day she received a call about her daughter showing strange behavior at school. It had started small in which they had just thought she had developed a twitch or some sort of ADD. She just couldn't hold still.
It was a week later when the starting of her powers really started to kick in. Orzell found out that she could outrun any kid in her school. By the next day she could run circles around them while they ran. However her powers were not without consequence as she found she struggled to stop. Walking had become a nightmare, everything was too slow.
Get Set
By the time Orzell had turned eleven, things had escalated out of control. In a fit, she had decided to test herself and see just how fast she could really go. She had things going her way for just about thirty seconds before she tripped over her burning shoes, and collided into a wall. It was reported later that day that a mysterious accident had brought down a building downtown. Orzell's mother was smart enough to put two and two together, and decided it was time the two of them had a talk. Her mom revealed that she had the powers to make time slightly slow or speed, but that she had never had the desire to be a hero.
The next day, Orzell was absent from school as she was taken to go register herself as a super Hero. Being only eleven, Orzell registered herself as as her real name. Her mother, begrudgingly, wasn't made aware of this until after it had already been set in stone.
Hero!
Orzell had also pushed her way into having two nights a week she could freely skip school and fight crime. Her mom saw it as a good outlet, and let her keep this up so long as it didn't affect her grades. The only problem with hero work, is that it is never constant. Try as she might, Orzell just could not keep up with school work and being a hero.
By the time she had turned 15, Orzell had become almost too much for her mom to keep up with. Her grades were barely passing, and Orzell had developed an attitude along with her powers. Her mom decided that it might be a good idea to rush her schooling. She grounded Orzell from hero work for two months, with that time she pushed her to graduate just after she turned 16. This caused a big strain in their relationship, before Orzell had enough. She used some of the earnings she had saved up and moved out.
