The Outside Man is a mysterious figure who can solve any problem from the outside in. Quiet, mysterious, and controlled... what could he possibly have to do with the exuberant and excitable young lady who's often seen near the scenes of his exploits?

Background

Victoria "Tori" Danner is used to being on the outside looking in. As a rough-and-tumble child and then a promising athlete and gifted martial artist, Tori was used to feeling stifled by the expectations put on her by her gender and by her own crippling social awkwardness. As an adult, she found few open doors in the fields that appealed to her. An unsatisfying career in the United States intelligence services led her to go into business for herself, but so many of her clients were unwilling to send a woman into danger that she drew on another of her talents: disguise.

Exit Tori Danner, enter Vic Danger, the Outside Man.

Cold, dispassionate, aloof... and every inch a man of action. Vic is everything Tori can't be. He's a master infiltrator reputation for looking at a problem from every angle before moving in. If an object needs to be retrieved, he can find it. If it needs to be lost, he can put it where it will never be found. The jobs for Vic are rolling in, and Tori is having the time of her life.

Or someone else's.

Personality

Tori is loud and boisterous, though she lacks real self-confidence in dealing with others. Her conversational gambits often fall flat and she routinely falls back on showboating and joking around. As "Vic", she tries her best to play things cool mostly by being very quiet. It works to the extent that her clients and contacts think of Outside Man as a stoic sort, very businesslike and supremely capable. She wishes she could be as cool as she imagines "he" looks.

Tori is bisexual, though any relationships are complicated by her general lack of social graces and the confusion engendered (no pun intended) by her dual identity.

Notes

Outfits

Tori's "Vic Danger/Outside Man" persona has two outfits: a man in a pinstriped suit, and the same man in a high tech ninja commando outfit. Her "civilian" identity isn't precisely a civilian. Tori Danner is known to law enforcement and the intelligence community as a wannabe adventuress, a loose cannon long ago thrown overboard. Aside from varying her fighting style slightly between personae and dressing them up with various special effects, she takes no pains to hide her natural abilities in either identity... her alter ego exists only for business purposes.

Power Explanations

Outside Man's Teleportation pool power represents Tori's ability to get herself into places that seem otherwise unaccessible. The various long-range teleportation prestige powers on the account are a hack of the emergency teleportation system used by the hospitals. All other powers (not including ones that involve visible weapons and gadgets) come from training and natural ability.
