Pantheon XI
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Origins
Garrison was born in Portland, Oregon on April 29th, 1990. His parents were seperated, and at a young age his father died. The events after his father's death led to his curse, which he carries still. He can not only see and hear spirits, but they are drawn to him. Building on his latent empathy, he feels the pain and torment of others. His curse has taken him through experiences of pain that otherwise he would have no contact with.
After being cursed, Garrison took off on his own. Relying on the survival skills his father had taught him, he wandered the country as a minor. Most of his life he had little more than his guitar and a backpack of belongings. He played music in coffee shops and other small venues to get by. When he was 18 he spent a significant amount of time in Alaska. He spent his 19th birthday in Anchorage. It was there that his fate caught up to him and the events started that led him to his sword, Godkiller.
11th of Fate
The events that gave Garrison his sword are hazy due to his unwillingness to divulge details. What is known is that he was approached by an unkown being with a task. Garrison has some theories of who this being was, but has yet to even divulge that much. He was tasked with merely the words, "Change the world." The same had been given to ten others throughout history. Whoever fulfilled their task first would be granted a "wish." Through the years the task became a competition, and then a war. Each with a powerful artifact to help them change the world, the eleven now battle to have their wish granted.
Garrison is still learning how to control his artifact, and is hardly ready for the ancient war ahead of him. However he is preparing the best he can, and will soon face the other fated to change the world.
Personality
Garrison is a troubled young man with a big heart. Desperately wanting to be loved, his life spent mostly alone has taken its toll on him. He has shattered self-esteem and fear of abandonment from everyone he spends time with. However, he forces himself to be cheerful and funny, often making fun of his own geekiness. He wears prescription glasses, a common target for his own jokes, has asthma, and has problems with his feet and legs. Without the energy he focuses into his body to make it perform on super human levels, he is a normal human being, and a physically inept one at that.
On top of his ability to see spirits, he is a paranoid schizophrenic. Without access to any real treatment, he stole some rather high powered anti-psychotics and used them when he would have particularly bad episodes. During his time with the Hyperion Force he began regular treatment with prescribed medicine. However, due in large part to his mental illness, he became unwanted in the Force and left. He tries to make by with the prescription given to him, but often thinks of finding a doctor to help treat him.
Appearance
Inheriting some of his red-headed mother's traits, Garrison has light skin with light freckles scattered across his body. It is where he gets the red in his auburn hair, and when his beard grows out is very red. His mother's lineage is strongly Welsh, while he knows next to nothing about his father's bloodline. Garrison's face has softer features and a bright, vibrant smile. His bright green eyes and longer eyelashes are feminine traits in his otherwise mostly masculine physique.
His hair is long and messy, but always styled. It is pushed to one side, his bangs resting along the frames of his black Converse glasses. When he wants to hide his feelings, he lets his hair fall over his face. The hair behind his left ear is longer than the rest and always braided. Whether or not this has any signifcance he's never said.
Garrison has broad shoulders and tight muscles in his upper body. His waist and hips taper down to be much thinner than his upper body, however his thighs are muscular. He has big hands and feet, both which have light callousing. Scars are scattered over his whole body except for his face. His face only has a small scar next to his eye. There is very heavy scarring on his chest over his heart. Part of the chest scarring extends up to his neck, but is usually covered by his armor or the collared shirts he wears.
Being very insecure about his body because of his scars, he spends a lot of time picking out his clothes. He rarely wears anything casual. When not in combat gear he almost exclusively wears ties and more formal clothing. When he returns home to the Beacon, he usually takes everything off down to his underwear. There is little middle ground in clothing for Garrison. Besides making himself comfortable, wearing his underwear around the base is an overcompensation for his insecurities. He shows off his body and puts on a face of confidence to slowly help him ease his anxieties.
He is always found to be wearing a collection of mismatched beads around his left wrist. Each bead is unique in size and shape. Some even give off various forms of light. He often considers getting a tattoo and/or piercings, but has yet to decide on anything he wants to get done.
Last Beacon
Wanting to finally make a home for himself where he felt safe, Garrison started the Last Beacon. Annexing a part of the ancient city of Oranbega, he became the Arch-Keeper of the Beacon. While acting as a heroic organization bent on saving the world, the Beacon serves as a shelter for misunderstood or struggling meta humans or those otherwise who have no place to go. Knowing the feeling of being unwanted all too well, he strives to find those in the city who would benefit from his shelter.
Pilgrimage of Sin
Currently the only knowledge Garrison has to master Godkiller is that he must master the 7 Deadly Sins. From what he has gathered, how each Fated One masters their sins plays a role in how they change the world. While it is still unclear of how he must master them, he has learned the ability to change forms, one for each Sin. He has begun his journey to learn the true essence of each.
Pride: ???
Garrison has not unlocked the form for Pride, nor has he discovered anything to begin mastering it.
Wrath: Spirit of the Leviathon
The soul form for Wrath is a watery creature drawing from the essence of the Leviathon. He has little control of the beast, so he rarely changes into it. Fearing of what he might do, Garrison has put Wrath in the back of his mind until later.
Envy: Spirit of the Legion
Envy's form is when the horde of spirits that follow Garrison inhabit his body. Ectoplasmic scars glow on his body and is controlled by a network of ghosts referring to themselves simply as "Legion." Garrison has begun to delve into the Legion's past, attempting to discover who it is comprised of. As Envy, Garrison learns of the dead's envious feelings for the living.
Lust: Spirit of the Devil
Lust is the first form Garrison discovered after losing his virginity. He changes into a red devil with an insatiable physical appetite. Spending the most time in this form, Garrison has made the most progress with Lust. Having multiple girlfriends has forced him to learn a delicate balancing act. With every girl Garrison is with, he learns more of the balance between love and lust. Love is bright and pure, an emotion that can change the world in of itself. But without lust it can shrivel and wilt. Lust is a motivating passion and pleasure that can come even in the darkest of days. However, without love it can become corrupted and unsatisfying.
Gluttony: Spirit of the Minotaur
The form of Gluttony is the most dramatic change Garrison makes. He changes into a hulking Minotaur with an unending appetite for food, drink, and destruction. Still unable to properly communicate while a minotaur, Garrison spends little time in this form. It doesn't help that after turning back he has a serious case of the munchies for a couple days.
Sloth: ???
While yet to unlock the true form of Sloth, he already has certain feelings for it. Having spent his whole life running, there is much about him that wishes he could finally rest. Fearing that once he changes into its form he might not change back, Garrison is hesitant to search for its secrets.
Greed: ???
From his current experiences, Garrison has had few reasons to be greedy. However, as he begins to manage the Beacon's finances and resources, he is slowly learning the importance of material goods.
Abilities
Pantheon XI
While using his sword, Godkiller, he focuses his psychic abilities inward to create a catalyst from his body for spiritual energies. Using the power of the spirits he houses within his sword, he is given inhuman strength and resistances. An ectoplasmic shell is created around his body, shielding him from harm. While he is a psychic himself, he is weak to mental assaults. This is in part due to his weak grip on reality.
Azra'eil
During the times Garrison does not use Godkiller, he relies on his own abilities to stay in the fight. He taps into his empathy to heal and support those around him. Against his foes he forces a variation of an empathetic link to flood their minds with his schizophrenic illusions. He enlists the aid of ghosts that travel with him to fight for him. In the full use of his powers, ectoplasmic energy sprays from his spinal cord, creating a wing-like pattern of excess energy.
Legion XI
While in his Envy form, Legion, his powers are altered. When Legion takes full control, the abundance of power from the horde of spirits flood out of the ectoplasmic scars, burning everything around him with the powers of the Underworld. While he still retains some ability to shield himself with the energy, much of it is lost to the leaking, leaving him more vulnerable than usual. Legion does not use Godkiller, using instead hand-to-hand combat to channel energy directly.
Companions
The Harem
Garrison has multiple open relationships that all live with him at at the Beacon. It has been referred to as his "Harem" and has seemingly stuck since.
Victoria Vagabond: Victoria, or "Tori" as Garrison calls her, was born some years in the future. She traveled back through time to 2012 and met Garrison in Pocket D. It was not long before the two of them were very close. Adopting a complete honesty policy, they are both fully open and honest about their thoughts and feelings. Garrison calls Victoria his Princess, and is convinced that he is her Knight in Shining Armor.
Charm Snake: Sera is an ex-Resistance member from Praetoria. They met during a brief episode of Sera pretending to be her Primal counterpart, who Garrison had a previous relationship with. She moved from Praetoria to live with Garrison and help him start the Beacon. Sera is currently pregnant with Garrison's child, a fact that he could not be happier about. He thinks of her often and misses her when she is not with him.
Cell-Sword: Brenda was wandering through Oranbega when she heard "non-violent screams" coming through the halls. It was later learned to be Sera who she heard. Once stumbling upon the Beacon, Garrison quickly offered her a home there. She is a mutant with power over her cell division. Often at the hosptial, she grows replacement organs for patients. Once she learned about Garrison's multiple girlfriends, she asked to be one of them. Their relationshp is still blossoming, but Garrison cares for her deeply.
Keepers
Kitsune Blitz: Miaka is an anthropomorphic-fox that Garrison met by chance at Pocket D. She expressed interest in his efforts with the Beacon, so he invited her to live there. Due to her nature and kind, loving soul he grew close to her very quickly. Miaka is a priestess of Semantra, and when she asked Garrison to be the religious leader of the Beacon, he whole-heartedly agreed. He gave her their chapel for her domain. Not only is she becoming a foundational support for the Beacon, but for Garrison himself. He cares for her, so as usual he is very protective of her.
Hrothgan: It is a running joke that neither Arbitus nor Garrison remember how they met. However, Arbitus became a Keeper of the Beacon and quickly showed Garrison his willingness to help the organization grow. He was born during the time of the Roman Empire to the Hrothgonian clan. Arbitus fought the Romans for his land, and just kept fighting. He has shown no sign of aging and has unparalleled battle prowess. Garrison promoted him to High Keeper and considers him his right hand man in his operations.
Others
Alexia Dale: Alexia is a friend and former teammate during his days in the Hyperion Force. During his struggles within the Force, Alexia practiced tough love on him in attempt to help him grow. Once he was gone they became friends again and keep in contact. Alexia has seemingly shown hope in Garrison to rise to the level of a true Hero, something that Garrison will forever be grateful for. He sees Alexia as something of a mentor, and hopes to inherent some of her leadership abilities.
Theme Song
Don't blink, they won't even miss you at all.
And don't think that I'll always be gone.
You know I've got you like a puppet in the palm of my hand.
Don't you let me down!
So run like hell. Sleep with one eye open.
You can forgive or forget. You will tell everyone the damage done.
Too bad you can't stop me. You can't stop me now!
I'll be there just to watch you fall.
So don't push me. I've got nothing to lose!
Don't blink, they won't even miss you at all.
And don't think that I'll always be gone.
You know I've got you like a puppet in the palm of my hand.
Don't you let me down!
There I go again. I mean its so damn hard to come back from the mess that you've made.
I told you so. You're a snake and I confess.
Just use your head!
I'll be there just to watch you fall.
So don't push me. I've got nothing to lose!
Don't blink, they won't even miss you at all.
And don't think that I'll always be gone.
You know I've got you like a puppet in the palm of my hand.
Don't you let me down!
COME ON!
Everybody's out to get me! Any moment could be my last!
This is it, you can take it or leave it!
Will you run? I will stand on my own two feet!
JUST BREATHE!
JUST BREATHE!
Don't blink, they won't even miss you at all.
And don't think that I'll always be gone.
You know I've got you like a puppet in the palm of my hand.
Don't you let me down!
Don't blink, they won't even miss you at all.
And don't think that I'll always be gone.
You know I've got you like a puppet in the palm of my hand.
Don't you let me down!
