I want YOU for the Power Pantheon!
The Power Pantheon are a family of adventurer-explorers in the style of Ancient Greece but updated to the atomic age. They are daredevil imaginauts that SCUBA-dive into shark-filled seas, test new and experimental travel vehicles, and in general cheat death and challenge the unknown.
Like all idiosyncratic hero types, the Power Pantheon are a family that squabbles and fights each other as much as the villains, and with explorers there are rivalries and games of one-upmanship. The spirit of competitiveness drives the new Olympians of the Power Pantheon.
The Pantheon is facinated by the paranormal, weird and unknown at the fringe of science and philosophy: UFOs, unexplained psychic phenomena, monster sightings (Sally in particular is of great interest).
- Has the Portal Corporation discovered a new earth, but one too hazardous to explore, of which nothing can be confirmed?
- Has construction in the Hollows revealed lost ghost-filled ruins of the city of Ouranbega?
- Is the Council kidnapping top scientists with a new and experimental giant robot?
The Power Pantheon is sure to be on it.
Of particular interest are exploration badges and their recovery.

Secret Society
The Power Pantheon places a big priority on secrets, passwords and cryptography. When an initiate reaches the full rank of member, they are required to choose for themselves a name based on a figure from Ancient Greek mythology. This is a tradition believed to go back to Mediterranean times.
The Temple
Headquarters of the Power Pantheon, the Temple is a pocket-dimensional HQ reachable by portal from anywhere in the city, created by African Athena based on the science used in the Pocket D. The majority of it is dominated by science facilities.
No televisions are allowed anywhere in the Temple. The library is, however, huge and extensive, as are the workshops.
Archimedes
The official mascot of the Power Pantheon, Archimedes is a skunk that is the Temple's sole permanent resident. He had his stink-gland removed, and he is extremely friendly even to people he doesn't know, crawling over the conference tables and jumping on strangers' laps.
Archimedes is often painted on the nose of Power Pantheon vehicles.
History
Ancient Mediterranean and Cimerora
The first incarnation of the Power Pantheon was as a secret society of supermen in the Ancient Mediterranean, particularly the island of Cimerora. The Midnighter Club has obtained only a few records from the original Power Pantheon. There is a theory that as a result of time travel, some modern-day members are also members of the original group!
The full roster was not known, but several members referenced in Cimeroran parchments found by the Midnight Society include:
- Discus (a mortal human/Natural origin hero with mastery of throwing discus)
- Hecate (conjectured to be one of the first Nictus/Warshades)
- The Minotaur (a monster that longed for human companionship)
- Centurion (no information known)
- Oracle (conjectured to be a mutant precognitive or telepath)
- Kid Icarus (mutant born with wings)
- Helios (possibly a heat/light blaster of some kind, not known)
- Nubian Minerva (superstrong, invulnerable giantess with scientific skill)
- The Fighting Pharaoh (a Pharaoh that faked his own death and pretends to be his own Mummy, armed with Ancient Egyptian combat techniques)
The original Cimeroran incarnation of the Power Pantheon were loyal allies of Imperious, and were believed to have played a role in restoring him to Cimerora after ousting the Cimeroran traitors and Romulus Augustus.
Croatoa
After the fall of Rome and the loss of Cimerora, the Power Pantheon were believed lost and disbanded. But there was a connection to the occult detectives on the weird region of Croatoa, which attracted paranormal scientists and explorers like a magnet.
Modern Paragon City
The story of the founding of the modern group is a secret restricted to anyone not of the Senior Member rank or above within the Power Pantheon. The reason is because it contains an explosive and dangerous secret.
Sally
The official position is that Sally doesn't exist. Would YOU believe it, with just a few out of focus photographs?
Unofficially, most members of the PP are keen to be the first to spot her.
Senior Members
African Athena
Leader of the Power Pantheon, African Athena is an amazon scientist that created an atomic elixir that gave her superstrength and invulnerability. She is organized, experienced and disciplined, a high-achieving "Type A." She adventures with the Pantheon for the thrill of exploration and scientific curiosity. She is competitive and likes being the best at what she does.
Herculon
A celebrity partygoer, Herculon is a fun-loving adventurer that was formerly a crippled teen that acquired his powers from the Olympian God Hercules. He is not as serious as the rest, but wouldn't abandon a fight or run from a friend.
