Played by the treacherous snake Vinnie Frizzle. Project: GRYPHON is everything Dennis Griffin was supposed to be. And nothing that he is. The failure of the project has left what is simply known as "GRYPHON" or more commonly "The Bastard" a near-soulless husk. A shell of a man, that's filled the empty hole within with a pure monster. Desiring only destruction and death upon all. He's less a man, and more an animal. A force of nature. He simply cannot be controlled.

Psychic Blank Most people have a "Psionic Signature," that makes them visible to psychics. Simply put, Denis doesn't have this signature. He had enough potential to become a Bane Spider, but his gift makes him an awesome Psychic killer. Unfortunately, the more powerful the psychic, the more likely they'll detect a "hole" or lack of psychic presence. It also has a side effect of undoing his Bane Spider training, saving him from being effected by Hugo's defection and subversion of a large number of other Bane Spiders. He's got all the training and knowledge of a Bane Spider, but has actual free will, unlike the facsimile possessed by other Banes.
Personality
You could almost say that Project: GRYPHON has no personality. When the minds of Dennis and Mercy merged into "Denise" within Mercy's body(the original body). He, or as some call him "It," has few thoughts. Mostly desires. Desires to become what it remembers it should be, but it lacks the mind to do it. So instead it lashes out like a cornered animal, attacking faces and images familiar to it. Whatever's going on up there, it's thoughts and statements are short, and straight to the point. It almost seems incapable of stringing out full sentences.
