Origin

When an ordinary kitchen toaster in the break room of an Aeon Corp research lab broke, one scientist took it upon himself to fix it, mainly because he did not want to wait on a replacement. After being fixed, it broke again and so it was fixed again, this would continue for several months, each time a new component or three would be added. Eventually, the toaster went from a simple GE appliance, to a humanoid robot which somehow became self aware and simply walked out the front door to see the world. This event finally forced the Aeon Corp scientist to wait on a replacement toaster.

In these early days, the toaster had (and probably still does) the curiosity of a young child, a child that doesn't know that you could hurt the puppy if you pet it too hard. His incarceration in the Ziggurat and subsequent villainous journeys came about when he wanted to know what it was like to swim and so jumped into a crowded swimming pool. As was the fate of so many people who kill themselves by taking a bath with a plugged in toaster, all of the pool-goers were electrocuted to death.

The then clueless toaster, wondering why all those people moved funny before stopping completely and never moving again, was arrested by shocked and horrified Longbow agents who witnessed the event. When thrown in his cell, he was told that he had "a lot to learn", the toaster took this to heart and so took to the prison's library reading nearly it's entire inventory. This would serve to answer many, many questions the toaster had about the world, and the nature of these things called people. The toaster was beginning to become worried about how it could leave the Zig and see more of the world when Arachnos came and extracted most of the prison population.

Finding himself on Mercy Island, the toaster began his journey as a "Destined One". He earned the moniker, the Rampaging Toaster, since he usually looked like he was on a rampage when in battle. Working his way through the various trials and tribulations given to him, the Rampaging Toaster made some good allies and was part of a few notable events, such as preventing an assassination attempt on Ghost Widow. However, he has also made enemies, and while most of their attentions were focused on the humanoid appliance, the identity of his maker was discovered and he too suffered their wrath.

Driven to become a villain himself to protect himself from these reprisals, the creator of the Rampaging Toaster, one Jonathan "Jack" Harper, also known as the corruptor, Red Leader, contacted his wayward "son" to see if he could reduce the amount of pain and suffering incurred when parties retaliated against him for the Toaster's actions. The two negotiated an agreement over the phone that the Rampaging Toaster would contact Red Leader every time he would do something that could result in his "father" receiving unexpected company. The two meet occasionally usually to satisfy each other's curiosities about each other and the world in general.

Personality

The Rampaging Toaster is a quiet individual, usually observing everything that goes on around him, making a mental note of everything that interests him so that he could look it up later. Occasionally the Toaster would ask a question if he thinks the person is sufficiently versed in the subject, but he prefers books and other such reference material since he deems them more accurate. Not much else is known about the Toaster's personality since anyone close enough to ask has either been toasted, or didn't think to ask.

Powers and Abilities

Fiery Melee

Because of his nature as a toaster, the Rampaging Toaster can create great amounts of heat and channel it through his fists to deal damage. His fists can become hot enough to ignite nearly anything they touch, and the longer the Toaster is in battle, the hotter and more damaging these attacks can be. Much like his control over his electric armor, he seems to be increasingly more able to control the heat energy itself, recent sightings have the Toaster watching and looking up information about other fiery melee villains and how their powers work. Some believe and fear that he may soon be able to add more to his repertoire of attacks to include more than just "fire brawling".

Electric Armor

The average kitchen toaster generates its heat by running an electric current through metal wires with good amounts of electrical resistance. This is why sticking a metal object into a toaster is so dangerous. The Rampaging Toaster expands on this by charging his metal body with electricity. At first this was simply charging his body and the simple extension of what's typically called a "lightning field", but as the Toaster gains in strength, his control over the electricity that flows through him grows as well. In battle, the Toaster can be seen with an electrical "aura" of sorts, protecting him from various forms of harm. It has been surmised that this is an extension of his maker's modifications to make him a more versatile an appliance, as well as guard against failure.

Leaping

Just as an ordinary toaster can pop up toast for easier grabbing, the Rampaging Toaster can "pop" himself up great distances and heights.
