Supergroup: They Might be Heroes

Character History

Luna used to live a life of luxury in a mansion on the outskirts of London. Her family had a rich inheritance, along with her father managing one of the country's leading pharmaceutical companies. Hop spent day in and day out studying to match her father's expectations, and the only real break from the tedious work was when her family would take trips across the continent.

Whenever her family would visit France, the first place she would always insist her parents took her was the circus. Hop grew enamored with the magical tricks and displays of acrobatics the performers used to tell such wonderful stories. The Prism Circus was her favorite, and she would always stay after every performance to meet the performers.

When push came to shove and her father was about to force her into boarding school, Luna rebelled. Running away from home, she fled to the Prism Circus. She became a performer under the name 'The Resounding Hop', specializing in the trampouline and tightrope while studying under the Circus' magician. While he used sleight of hand and illusions to create his wonderful magic, Hop began to notice the paralels between those tricks and compounds she could create through chemistry.

Hop created a universal blue powder using uncommon materials that, when mixed with certain other materials, could create a variety of effects. The most notable of these effects being resonating pulses of sound. Through an accident when combining the two components for the first time, the materials shifted into her own bloodstream. The final effect gave her a permanent control over sound.

Encouraged by her fellow performers, Hop departed from the Prism Circus to put her powers to good use. She arrived in Paragon City and set off to bring a bit of joy to the heroes. Hop still travels back to England periodically to perform in the Prism Circus, spending all of her money earned as a hero to improve the already wonderful circus.

Personality

Hop is incredibly whimsical and silly, often to the annoyance of her fellow Super Group members. However, she is not an airhead in any sense of the word. She is very book-smart, and has skills in the physical and social sciences that rival that of experts in the fields. In her own mind, she makes up for the gloom and doom attitude of the average hero with her own hoopyness.

Hoopynomics

Hop has a word in her dictionary that comes up rather often. Hoopy. What is hoopy, you might ask? Well, she explains it the best:

"Being hoopy is...well, you know how someone can be really hoopy? Well, that's like being hoopy, only you're so much more hoopy than that! The level of hoopy is so over the charts that it doesn't even show up on the radar, even! That's kind of like what hoopy is, but to really understand it, you have to be hoopy yourself. Isn't that hoopy?"

Powers

Hop's own DNA has been altered through the blue powder she has created, giving her control over sound. She can alter the pitch, volume, and tone of any sound. In order to jump high distances, Hop increases the sound surrounding her own footsteps in a completely different frequency, using the exploding force from that sound to propel her upwards.

In addition, Hop can perform various 'magical' tricks with her blue powder. The effects can range from small illusions to small physically altering tricks.

Enemies

Hop has a strong hatred of the Carnival of Shadows, which use the guise of the carnival to hide their malicious deeds. She's had run-ins with their leader in the past, and after Hop nearly decimated their home base in response to them directly attacking the Prism Circus, the two have come to a tenuous agreement. They would settle their matters on the streets.
