Revered
From Unofficial Handbook of the Virtue Universe
Revered is a player's attempt at making something at least partially unique, in the way of characters. He is a favorite of mine. The concept is a lot of fun to roleplay out, especially when people go along with it.

Personality
Revered is normally quite withdrawn out of costume, seemingly indifferent to the world around him. He somewhat lacks confidence, yet is kind. In costume, he seems to have all of the confidence necessary for any situation, taking upon his hero persona to get the job done. He is more talkative while in costume, too.
Powers and Abilities
Revered is what could be called a living inspiration. His mutation allows him to set off a spark in a person, with a gentle mental nudge in the direction that he wants it to go. This can be felt in most people who are receiving this as a sudden impulse to do something, or a biting urge, sometimes. He is (as of yet) unable to inspire someone to do something that they are normally completely against (such as having someone jump off of a bridge). Revered is known to bring people up to their fighting potential, and beyond, and essentially brings out the very best in people. His lesser known ability it to bring out the worst in people, however, and is able to slow those down who would oppose him, inspiring them to lose their will to fight.
History / Origin
Andrew's childhood went as well as could be expected. His mother stayed home, and his father was a prolific writer, having wrote a few novels, and frequently wrote for the a local newspaper. His life took a turn for the worse when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. She died only months later. Andrew was twelve at the time. To make matters even worse, around two years ago, his father had hung himself in a closet and left a short suicide note. At age 16, Andrew was alone in the world. He had scarcely anyone to turn to for help and moral support, and so he thought it best to keep his father's death a secret from the public. From there on, he lived alone, finishing high school.
His life took another unexpected turn around the time of the start of the second Rikti invasion. He was running an errand, and the Rikti had just begun bombing, and he helped organize people to get to a safer spot. This went far better than expected, and with the help of a hero, they quickly dispatched any Rikti that entered the building, to his amazement. His powers manifested for the first time, at this point.
From there he took a secret identity to avoid the public eye, so he would be free to do his work without any bother from the people he once knew.
