Background
In 1944 Senior Airman Richard Warrick Ashford's P-51 Mustang was shot down in the skies over Europe. However, when his plane passed through a cloud on its way down it vanished and Richard nor his plane were ever found. Now, 64 years later, he's mysteriously returned to Paragon City, though he is far different than the man he left as. Where he spent those years is anyone's guess, though from the look of him he's experienced much.
Powers
Sometime during his absence, Rhawkas developed magical powers. These powers allow him to harness and control lightning, as well as a force he calls "Aether". While he uses his electric powers to supercharge his fists for slugfests, he primarily uses his ability to control Aether to enchant items. Rhawkas also uses his Aether to strengthen his legs to the point that he can make incredible leaps.
Equipment
While away, Rhawkas apparently found himself in need of a weapon to defend himself with after he ran out of his initial supplies. By then he had learned to harness the powers of Aether and used this ability to enchant an M1A1 Thompson that he had specially made from Mithril and a black wood called Twilightwood. This new M1A1 Thompson, which he calls an AEM1A1 Blade, resembles the original M1 in several ways, though since it fires bullets comprised solely of Aether energy, it doesn't need to be reloaded and can be fired more quickly, allowing for rapid bursts and potentially even the ability for full auto. This weapon has its drawbacks though. It is immensely powerful, but as a result the recoil is horrible. In addition, the AEM1A1 Blade draws upon Rhawkas' own supply of Aether energy, meaning that he is the only one capable of safely using the weapon. In addition to his AEM1A1, Rhawkas also had his flight jacket customized by having Mithril chainmail sewn into the lining and then enchanted with Aether for further protection.
Abilities
Having grown up constantly chasing his father around and getting into his work, which included schematics of weapons and vehicles, Rhawkas grew up planning to follow in his father's footsteps. He soon took an interest in aviation and when WWII started, he put his skills to use and enlisted as a fighter pilot. However, having gone to college to become an engineer for the military, his is quite educated.
About the Player
Jon, the player, is 20 and has been playing MMORPGs since Ultima Online first launched. Since then he's played Ultima Online, Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, Shadowbane, World of Warcraft, City of Heroes, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, and Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach. He's been playing CoH since launch and has been roleplaying the entire time. His main character is Youko, a level 50 MA/SR scrapper on Virtue and a member of the Dauntless Reverie. Jon is an active player and still enjoys CoH very much. His main characters are all on Virtue. They are, in no particular order:
