The Divine Annals of Sacred Ruby
A God Is Born
Once long ago, Diana hunted her half-brother Mars across the night sky in anger. Her arrow grazed his neck and threw a single drop of divine blood down toward the mortal world below; as it fell, the hot blood cooled into a single, perfect ruby, a great jewel worth a king's ransom.
For centuries, men fought to possess the gem, but its true value came to light only during the reign of a pretender to Olympia's grandeur, when curator Vanessa Reed fell to her city's false guardians. She had used her museum, the ruby's home, to shelter dissenters, and the lords of the city struck her down for her sin.
As Fortuna's will would have it, Vanessa's family line already carried a trace of the divine blood of great Atlas. The power of Mars dormant in the stone roused at the death of distant kin and joined itself to her, pulling her from Pluto's grip and transforming her into Sacred Ruby, demigoddess of rebellion.
A Choice Is Made
Sacred Ruby wielded her hammer against the tyrant that enslaved her homeland, dealing blow after blow to his rule; she defeated his minions, freed his slaves, opened the way for new allies to the revolt, and finally razed the pretender's source of enchanting potions to the ground.
After her success in these many battles, the army of rebels prevailed upon Sacred Ruby to go to the world of their allies and recruit fresh warriors to bring the fight to final victory. And yet Sacred Ruby knew could not do as they asked, for if she did, her mere presence would cause the realm of their allies to fall into chaos.
So did Sacred Ruby choose to enter this new plane in the pirate kingdom, where the forces of the spider king rule supreme and struggle against one's neighbor is a way of life. Through her presence and her actions she would turn the pirate kingdom upon itself, allowing the rebels' allies on this plane to topple the spider king and free their armies to aid her comrades in arms.
A False Sister Falls
In defeating this mirror creature and its hapless defenders, Sacred Ruby claimed this place as her own and now acts to gather together the learned men of this so-called "primal" earth that twist its mysteries to mortal ends; with philosophers of this realm capable of turning its black arts to her divine will, perhaps the products of this soothsayers' temple will serve to bolster the armies of revolution on her own plane.
