OOC Information

Saturn came to me almost over night. He originally started out with a basic red and white golden age tights look. After the costume pack came out, I refined his look to his signiture that you see today. This is argueably my greatest hero, and for once, someone made an alien, that made no sense. Seriously? An alien here from Saturn? Isn't that place a big ball of gas? Well, leave it to me to come up with a wacky storyline!

Personality

Saturn is a very unusual being. He speaks his mind, and is very ellaborate when doing so. He is very well educated, and finds Earth books to be a keystone in evolution. His temper can be much like is abilities, though, he seldomnly looses his cool.

Saturn has a very keen sense on justice, and cannot stand to see wrongs not be righted.

Youth

Youth

On the planet of Saturn, the youth are tested at the ripe age of 8 (Earth years). The people of Saturn are not a brutal people, but more of an elegant race. A young Saturnian is tested on knowledge of the living worlds, arts of the mystics, and ability to bend elements. A royal Sataurnian youth is pushed even farther by also being tested on their ability to persuade others, commanding the Grand Army, and military proficiency.

Saturn Spirit was among one of the greatest youths to go though the trials surpassing most of his royal family in ability. His obsessive nature to gaining knowledge gave him a distinct edge on all subject matter. The Royal Council noted his more than above average nature and would soon come into play in the future.

Nearing the age of 10 (Earth years), a Saturnian is almost considered mature. The final task to be accepted as an adult Saturnian is no small feat. They are sent to a desolate shield in the system and made to stay until they find a way back on their own.

It was during this task that Saturn harnessed his ability to bend fire for the will of flight. He spent only a short nine Earth months alone while the average Saturnian spends roughly two and a half years. Again, the council noted his excellent effort.

Upon his return back to Royal Saturn Prime, a ceremony was held to celebrate the maturing of Saturn royalty. It was here that he was adorned his crown, which not only symbolizes his prince hood, but boasts his powers of the mystic to an inconceivable strength. At this point it is acknowledged that the prince takes the responsibility to take over the kingdom in the even that the king and queen are no longer able. The eldest prince is also at this time deemed the commander of the Grand Army only responsible for answering to the king himself.

At this point in Saturn history, the system was prospering profoundly. The economy was booming, the knowledge from many worlds was growing, and most of the people were happy. Yet not even a gentle king can make everyone happy. A group of extremists was growing in the intent of over throwing the king. They sent threats to the royal family wanting change on some key political issues involving the equality of Saturnians and those not indigenous to the planet. They wanted less rights allowed, but the king saw all people, regardless if they were native or not, were equal and not to be judged separately.

After the king refused to change his policy several times, the extremists began attacking cities, and military structures. Although they were not a large force, they used tactics similar to guerilla warfare. They began systematically killing all non natives and those who protected them sending a wave of panic amongst the people of Saturn.

The Task at Hand

The Task as Hand

The kingdom was in shambles. The king was being attacked not only by the extremists, but the people wanting retaliation on them as well. Saturn Spirit was doing everything in his power as the Commander of the Grand Army to repel and counter all efforts, but the efforts put forth were not as successful as needed. The possibility of civil war loomed over the Royal Family as well as the Royal Council. The king called for an emergency meeting with the Council and Royal Family to build a plan to save the system.

The outcome of the meeting was a three month period to determine the nearest planet with the most probability to lend a hand as well as have a profound ability and technology.

After the three months was over, the Sentinel Project was established. One Saturnian of great strength and wisdom would be elected to visit the selected planet and recruit help. It was decided that a three part competition would be held with the systems strongest and brightest to obtain the desired representative. The first task was an immense knowledge test. The second was power test on their mystic abilities. The final task was a non casualty arena tournament. The one standing strongest in all three would be selected as the planets first Sentinel.

The Victor

The Victor

Saturn Spirit was elected as a potential Sentinel and accepted happily. Four hundred and ninety nine other Saturnians were also selected and the process began.

It was not a surprise to the Council that Saturn Spirit swept the competition clean leaving no close second to his ability.
