Mi-ik Mh'kaels is a member of a race of tele-empathic beings from Saturn whom have an intimate connection with the natural, passive telepathic emanations of sentient beings' surface thoughts: the thought-sphere. Mi-ik arrived on Earth during the closing of the first Rikti invasion to investigate the threat, but was unable to leave due to the chaotic nature of Earthlings' surface thoughts.
