Scarlet Jezabel

Scarlet Jezabel was the first character I created in City of Heroes, originally created less than a week before Issue Four. When I later purchased my own copy of the game, she was the first character I recreated. Though I often spend time on other characters, Jez holds a special place in my heart.

Mundane History
Born (DOB 12/31/1981 18:32 EST) and raised in Paragon City, Jessalyn Beall was so normal as to be unnoticeable. Given the crime-heavy nature of her home neighborhood of Kings Row, this proved to her advantage. She had been studying abroad when the Rikti Invasion struck Paragon City, laying waste to much of her childhood.
When the city began to settle, Jessalyn returned home in 2005, where her mother's dabbling with forces man was not meant to know led to her daughter's capture by the Circle of Thorns. Nobody - least of all Jessalyn - is certain what happened at the Rite of Ascension that was to make her body host to one of the Circle's demoniac masters. However, when the metaphorical dust settled, the Circle mages had vanished, and Jessalyn was - apart from lightheadedness and a lingering terror - completely unharmed.
Her new powers did not manifest until a week later, when Jessalyn was accosted by a group of Skulls. When struck by the eldritch energy cast by a [Bone Daddy], Jessalyn's body absorbed the power and used it to fuel a transformation - 5'3", 130 lb Jessalyn was transformed in moments into the monstrously powerful grey amazon she is today.
Meta History
Though her initial reaction was one of shock and dismay, it didn't take Jessalyn long at all to adapt to her new form and abilities. Taking the somewhat self-deprecating moniker "Scarlet Jezabel", the fledgling heroine launched herself into the super-heroic community of Paragon City with wanton abandon.
She has very few affiliations, mainly due to her mostly solitary nature. After a brief stint as a roadie for the (now defunct) super-powered rock group "Vaudeville Vengeance," Jezabel is once more patrolling the streets of Paragon City, looking for Circle rituals to break up.
