Affiliations
Shade Tiger's first affiliation was with the world domineering Alliance. For many years he worked under their control. Eventually he was liberated from the Alliance, and worked for Freedom Force. They were a rebellion force against the Alliance. When he emerged on our Earth, he worked alone for many years. Not in the typical 'superhero' capacity, though. Eventually he found his way to Paragon City, and it was there he heard of a group called The New Age Mutants. He has worked more in depth with the group than he has with anyone in a very long time. He has also worked with the allies of the New Age Mutants, the Palladium Sentry and The Empire Of Atlantis. Also he has stretched his horizons a little, working with The Global Defenders, and many independant superheroes and groups.
Earth 229
This is an alternate Earth, one Shade Tiger was born into. On this Earth, it was the Germans.. specifically the Nazi regime.. that was first contacted by extra terrestrials. Those aliens were known as the Rikti. Very quickly a the two groups came to an understanding, and the Alliance was born. It wasn't very long at all until most of this Earth was under their control.
Beginnings
Shade Tiger's earliest memories are of the Alliance concentration camp he was forced into. For many years he was kept there. It was a camp for those 'mongrel' breeds born with a mutation. After a few years there, he was 'recruited' by the Alliance to be used as an agent. Given his particular mutation, they saw him as being right to be augmented, as he had a very good chance of actually surviving the process. He would be used as one of their hunter-killer Sentinels, and an infiltration unit. And so the experimentations upon his form had begun. It took.. a very long time to find a stable mixture of Rikti alloy that could bond with the human body and still be stable. But eventually the right mix was found, and a percentage of Shade Tiger's musculature was grafted with this new Rikti alloy, Metasteel it had come to be known. The alloy was bonded below Shade Tiger's skin, to allow him to be able to infiltrate the resistance that had risen up agaisnt the Alliance. He no longer had a name, he was merely known as Experiment 918527.
Liberation
Shade Tiger had been made into a brutal killing machine. His knack was not as much for infiltration as it was hunting down the enemies of the Alliance. There was nothing left of his humanity while he was under the control of the Alliance, while he played executioner for them. One of the biggest rebellion factions of this Earth was known as Freedom Force, led by Sentinel Prime. They were the greates threat to the oppression of the Alliance. Freedom Force had eventually located the lab where Experiment 918527 had been created and housed, amongst a plethora of other brutal, merciless experiments. Freedom Force raided the lab, intending to shut it down and release the captors. After a drawn out battle, the agents of Freedom Force were eventually tracked down by Experiment 918527. Sentinel Prime and his intelligence officer Deftwing fought 918527, the archer Deftwing nearly losing her life to him. It was Sentinel Prime who was eventually able to bring down 918527, but also nearly lost his life. The experiments had come to a halt, the prisoners held in that laboratory freed. Many of them joined Freedom Force, but Experiment 918527 was less willing..
